I have always loved going during the winter and seeing the lovely period Christmas decorations and themed rooms. Equally lovely is touring the grounds during daffodil days; the moon gate, daffodils in the small wooded copse, bamboo, rock garden, rare trees, the waterfront, are all wonderful.

I love Christmas and I love afternoon tea. I was thrilled to find that Blithewold provided both. It was a delight to visit the mansion and see the beautiful decorations. Each room had a different theme. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. Looking out onto the gardens the view was exceptional, We weren't able to walk around outside do to the... More

I took my granddaughter to the Friday Night Sparkle at Blithewold and I was very happy that I did. An amazing amount of work has gone into turning this beautiful property into a Christmas wonderland . I cannot imagine the amount of work that went on behind the scenes, but I for one am greatful that It did. My granddaughter... More

The lights are beautiful for Christmas time. The Mansion was open. A small fee for the tour. I highly recommend this during the holidays.

We have a very fair amount of mansions for touring, due to the prominent Rhode Island Coastline that attracted the aristocratic wealthy of yesteryear. Although visits in the Warmer months provide more blooms to gardens, and more scenic water views, the Holidays provide a lovely look at these premises while decorated to the hilt. We try to tour a different... More

A tremendous amount of work went into decorating the mansion for the holidays and they have done a beautiful job. Adding to the enjoyment, was the balmy December temperatures which allowed us to walk around the grounds and gardens easily.

I took my mother and daughter for tea a few days ago. The tea they served was luke warm, the food was sparse and clearly brought in from the outside, and the people bringing it ranged from kind to colder than the tepid tea. I would not recommend having the tea here. There is not a restaurant on site, so... More

Always a favorite place to go at Christmas time. The decorations are spectacular! Each room has a different theme and has been decorated by different teams. Spring daffodil days are beautiful. Gardens are well maintained and pleasant to walk through.

We visited in December and got to see the place decorated for Christmas. It was beautifully decorated. Unlike the Newport mansion or even Linden Place, there were no audio tours or guided tours (at least, when we visited). We were told that there were instructional sheets at each room where we could learn a bit more about the person or... More

Blithwold mansion and gardens are located in Brustol, Rhode Island on the waterfront. The mansion was decorated beautifully for the holidays. We signed up for the Christmas tea in the dining room. We were served with beautiful China teacups and plates. The tea was served with different types of luncheon appetizers ( quiche, chicken salad phyllo cup, cucumber sandwich) and... More
