This is a beautiful place to walk, take wonderful scenic pictures, and meditate. There is also a bamboo small forest with paths. I go a couple of times a year and it is very peaceful and beautiful, one of the nicest gardens in all of RI.

Our tour group arrived on a Sunday morning for a private guided tour of the gardens and mansion. It was quiet and there were no other visitors at the time. Our guide Barbara took us on a one hour guided walk through the gardens and arboretum identifying the many fully grown specimen trees on the property. She answered all of... More

This place is lovely, for family and friends. There are concerts, and holiday festivities and high tea. The house evokes an easier life, the gardens are manicured, and the views are sublime. Check the website and plan a visit.

We really enjoyed our tour of this Mansion. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They have a military discount which is great.

You learn so much from the wonderful volunteer docents...take advantage of a Wednesday Walkabout. We toured the phenomenal grounds first...the trees alone are a wonder; copper beech, weeping birch, sequoia, redwood, the bamboo tunnel. The views are stunning. The fresh water spring fed lily ponds are so tranquill, as were the shade gardens. So much of the grounds reflect the... More

Good condition, interesting, but sparsely furnished. Gardens were very well cared for & a pleasure to walk through. Even had an eagle land next to us.

What a beautiful place. We really enjoyed touring the mansion. The furniture is original. The master bedroom is a gorgeous room, with a wonderful view. The grounds are amazing, near the bay. There is a water and rock garden, 12 sequoias, various plants and flowers. The trails are marked well. The volunteers are very helpful and really enjoy putting in... More

This was not our first trip to Blythewold but we will probably not be back again. We had last visited some years ago when our children were still young. They're grown and on their own now so it's been a long while. The mansion is beautiful and the setting is magnificent and there are two small very well done gardens... More

The home is beautiful but it is hard to not be blown away by the spectacular grounds. The trees are all identified with plaques and the flowers are gorgeous. Huge expansive lawn that leads down to a dock where you can enjoy a view of the boats out for the day.
