Moldy smell and unattended. Really wanted to get a feel for the island history but couldn't breath. We wandered around for a few minutes and as we were leaving someone approached us for an admission fee. Love supporting American historical museums but this place needs some refreshing.

There are lots of photos and postcards and articles from the 1800's when the island had it's first tourist boom and so many... More

Block Island has a great deal of history, and the historical society is a good place to learn more. There are hundreds of photos of old Block Island, the buildings, and the people. I certainly enjoyed the museum tour that added unique insight to the Block Island history. They even gave me some free post cards! It is close to shops and places to dine.
