ahave seen better should have more displays and history kinda boring for me. Hmmm they say I need 50 characters to finish this but can think of anymore to say

lucky enough to hit the last market of the season. local merchants had delicious local fare as well as beutiful, locally inspired artworks

There is a small fee to enter but to us it was worth it in order to learn more about the origins of Block Island. The only thing we were slightly disappointed in is that it is a self guided tour.

My husband and I wanted to learn about the history of Block Island; we were not disappointed by the experts on this topic at the Block Island Historical Society, and learned much on this topic...not only is it a great vacation venue, but it is rich in interesting history, and thanks to the information we received, we are now "experts"... This is an interesting little museum. It's like pleasant Block Island overall--not gussied up and touristy. Some interesting maps and a little maritime history.

I was looking forward to seeing more nautical items and information about the early settlers on this island. The first room was decorated with many photos and a powerpoint presentation repeated the photos actually hanging on the wall. There were some great photos, but the descriptions were short. This would really be a nice place to visit if it were open. Each time we've visited the island the historical society/ museum is closed. This is even during the peak summer season during the hours it is supposed to be open. Look forward to seeing whenever the do open. FYI word has it you must call ahead and they'll... More
