Imagine laying on your back, basking in the sun, a short walk from a cool, refreshing dip in the ocean and a fresh basket of clam strips at the nearby snack shack. This is many people’s dream of paradise, but it can be your reality with a simple trip to Block Island, Rhode Island’s Mansion Beach. This island sanctuary, while... More

Years ago, this beach was like a well kept secret. Now the secret is out. It's become quite popular now. Advise getting there early as parking becomes an issue. Also a note to families, this beach is primitive, with no bathrooms or food stands for the kids. Bring your food and drink with you.

This beach can get super crowded during peak times during the summer but in the second week of Sept we had the beach practically to ourselves & parking was a breeze! It's the biggest beach on the island & perfect for really long walks. The sand is super fine, white & soft, not like the beaches on Cape Cod.

Beautiful view, hike or bike ride down a bit daunting, but well worth it - nice walk over to the clay banks.

We had the best time visiting Block Island and loved, loved, loved, Mansion Beach, the water was so clean we could see our feet with the water being almost to our chest. The waves were gentle and nice size, great for bodysurfing or just playing in. We had trouble getting our child out of the water because he was having... More

We loved this beach. The sand is soft and there is plenty of room to run around. The surf was not too rough, which was important as we came with little kids. The parking got a little crowded, but the beach always had plenty of room.

Biggest and best beach on Block Island. There are no rocks at all and the beach is wider than the others. There were more people on this beach however. I would suggest getting there early at like 9 or 10 to enjoy a spacious beach before everyone starts to come at like 12, 1 and 2

Mansion Beach was a bit farther out than we thought, but the ride was flat so it was OK. The road leading directly to the beach was uneven but managable until the very end, when we walked the bikes. Beautiful beach with deep sand. Lots of people - young and older and families. We'd make the trip again. A lovely... More

This is your classic New England beach. Flat, great sand, calm surf. Walk a bit north for an adventure in tidal pools. You can sit here all day and watch the ferries and other boats arrive and depart from the island if that is your thing. Easy access from the parking lot, but no services, though it looked like you...
