easy to get to, clean and clear, and you can walk to restaurants easily and then return to the beach.

The sand on this beach is soft, fine grained and shell free. Even in the early fall a beautiful place to chill out and enjoy the rays. Surfers are nearer to town, but you can seemingly walk forever up the coastline.
Some sections of Crescent beach are exquisite; others not so great. You have to hunt out the best locations and decide what your priorities are because there may not be any "facilites" at that gorgeous beach you just happen to stumble upon.
The only beach on Block Island with public access to bathrooms & showers. This beach is clean and relatively calm making it a nice destination for families.
Took the ferry over to Block Island to enjoy a day in town and at the beach with my family. We walked around town then headed to Crescent Beach, sometimes called the State Beach, a short walk from the ferry on Corn Neck Road. When we arrived at the beach, I noticed one lady with her beach chair, towel, etc...

To compare to crowds we are used to at the Cape to take ferries to Martha VIneyard or Nantucket I have to say taking ferry to Block Island is very pleasant, even slower ferry takes under one hour and the island has great atmosphere. There were more people on bikes this Labor weekend than by cars and the State beach...

3 miles of beach. Clean, quiet, dog friendly, Beaches are short distances to the water. Mid beach there up is a comfort station (bathroom/showers). Also available to lunch (provided by 'Rachel,s Takeout'). Chair / umbrella rentals.
Right out of town, an easy walk and dog friendly. There was some seaweed on the very southern end, but it is a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise, and a gorgeous beach to sunbathe or swim. Saw paddleboarders too, quite calm and relaxing.
This was fun.Rode bikes to the bluffs then climed the stairs down and all the way back up.great beach for kids.Clean.
We walked along the beach up to the town beach area where there are bathrooms, showers, and rentals. It wasn't terribly crowded, the water was perfect, and there were waves of approximately 2-3 feet which were perfect for my girls. Next time, I would like to go all the way up to Mansion Beach.
