Rodman's Hollow is part of the chain of Greenway Trails that cris-cross the island. These trails start at the road, where there is a small parking area, and snake all of the way down to the bluffs on the South side of the island. Everything about this hike is just beautiful! If you want a longer hike, you can connect... More

We did the trails through Rodman's a few years ago on horseback and decided to try it on foot this time. The hike was very pleasant on a perfect day. Not much else to say other than it was nice.

First time to the Hollow, we had an awesome time spotting deer and the most monarch's we've seen all year! We did two hikes and still never made it to the bottom of the Hollow, we have to return!! Hiked to the bluffs and then down to the secluded Black Rock Beach. We also hiked a trail or maybe a... More

Discovered this lovely walking trail to the most beautiful view and deserted beach. So happy we made time to visit Rodman's Hollow!

The trail through and around the hollow offers many fine views and a pleasant peaceful setting. The climb down to Black Rock beach is a bit of a scramble, but well worth it.

The Hollow has some amazing walking and running trails. Decent amount of birds and some deer to be seen (depending on the time of day). The highlight of Rodman's Hollow (for me) is when the trail terminates into Black Rock Beach. This is honestly the most desolate beach on the island. You will be lucky if three or four people... My sister and I wanted to take a nice, long hike so we chose Rodman's Hollow. There are multiple trails connected together so you can choose a short or long hike. We hiked approximately 8 miles including all of the Rodman's Hollow trails and the trail connecting to Fresh Pond. The beach at the bluffs (Black Rock area) is stunning... More

The area is beautiful. Lots of wildlife. The trail to the beach is an easy walk. They need better signage.

We started north of Rodman's Hollow near the freshwater pond. We passed "Smilin' Thru". The hike had a variety of terrain, from open sunny fields to shady wooded areas. There were some steep hills, that might be challenging for some with mobility issues. After passing through Rodman's we ended up on the bluffs overlooking the ocean with wonderful cooling breezes.... Take a back pack - be patient, and find your way to the beach! It's spectacular! OH, and if you have a dog, keep an eye on him/her - don't lose your pooch!
