Ballards beach is close to town, has a full restaurant, on beach bar, facilities, and live music. There is a full break water stone wall to walk out on if so desired. It is a nice place to spend the day

Ballards is not the place to go if you want a quiet little dinner. It was raucous! There was a live band playing on the beach and the drinks in the pineapple were kitchy but super fun. The food was very good and if you like loud music and a beautiful venue than Ballard's is for you!

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! We walked the beach during a full moon and it was so peaceful and relaxing to listen to the waves. During the day we Turn'T up!

Best people watching. Vibrant young crowd who knew how to party with class. Excellent band on the weekend of the 4th.

Ballard's Beach is the best beach on Block Island. The beach is a short walk from Old Harbor right next to the ferry terminal. You have everything you could possibly need here. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, volleyball court, you have food and alcohol service, there is live music, bathrooms, a bar to watch the World Cup and a... More

Ballard's beach is very busy but it has soft sand and crystal clear water that is hard to find in New England. My daughter loved playing in the tidal pools by the rocks.

This is a music filled beach with bands playing throughout the summer. The beach is actually pretty nice with good waves most days. Beware that there are definitely some "people who have had too much to drink" roaming around by the end of the day, so not the greatest place to take kids towards the end of the day. Drinks... More

Restaurant is fun, but the beach is pretty lame. It gets really crowded during the peak of summer. If you do go to the restaurant ask for lobster claws or pirate masks, they usually have one or the other. Your kids will love the new toys.

Ballard's Beach area is always a great time. Soft sandy beach with enough waves to keep the kiddos happy. The facilities are clean and the bar/food service on the beach is great. We usually spend the day when we come here and it's always a great time! Awesome location!
