We stopped here on our bike ride and walked around for a bit. The views are amazing. In one direction you can see Montauk and in the other direction the north end of the island. The lighthouse itself is just beautiful. Tall, red brick, with steep roofs indicative of the time period in which it was built. The roofs are... More

Another amazing attraction and beautiful views from the Southeast Lighthouse! It wasn't open for the guided tour, but it still is an amazing attraction.

I've seen it a hundred times and always make it part of my trip to Block. Never gets old. You can get lots of fabulous pics of the lighthouse from all angles and since there's so much property, just lounging the grass was nice after a long day of moped riding. You can't always get in, especially during the week,... More

The best part of our visit was the guided tour which gives you the history and access to the top of the light house. Its a rare experience to get to see a classic lighthouse in operation while you watch. Its been modernized some but retain the old charm. it is a climb up some narrow stairs but managable. Great... The Southeast Lighthouse is an historic national landmark worth seeing. While we were unable to be on the tour because it's only open on the weekends, we did admire the exterior charm and beauty of this lighthouse. Bring the camera for some shots, especially if there is a unique sky.

I love a good lighthouse, and the SE Lighthouse didn't disappoint. Its a beautiful structure on a beautiful overlook looking down on the beach. Green grass, blue sky, with the red brick makes for a beautiful photo. There was a wedding going on in the grass while we were there. What was disappointing is that it was $10 to climb... More

We arrived late so the tour was over and we couldnt walk through. Theres a lot of history with this place so do a little research before you go. What a view from the property, bring your nice camera you'll want to take plenty of pictures.

While we didn't go in, it was worth visiting to see and learn the history of this lighthouse. It is one of only 2 on the island.

Nice slight uphill walk from center of town If you want to go up, there is a fee and you must be part of a guided tour. View the circular staircase, walk the grounds and enjoy the view!
