Today I Visited Block island to take in its beauty. During my trip I ran across the southeast light house. I have to say this light house is a great stop. The tour guide was so knowledgable about the location, it was just fantastic to speak with someone so passionate about the light house and its history. Just learning about... More

Quite simply, the Southeast Lighthouse is the ONLY reason we visited Block Island. And it's the crown jewel of the island. The lighthouse is open to the public. Climbing the tower will cost you $10. It's worth the cost. The guided tour is very informative and the money goes to a good cause. The owners are currently involved restoring the... More

My son and I stumbled on this lighthouse touring Block Island. What a pearl. We took the guided tour and it was so enjoyable. The kind man Jim gave us the low down on the history of this landmark. It was a great tour. So glad we stopped in.

Park your ride on the parking area outside on the road, walk towards the lighthouse. The views of the ocean from above the cliff is amazing. Must visit.

Very close to the harbor only a mile or so from the ferry so you could walk it but we rented bikes and was the 1st stop on trip around the island. Only issue was it was not staffed on June 13, 2015 so you could not go inside sign said it was because of a staffing problem.

We went on a cloudy day and were the only ones on the property. It was a beautiful site to wander through, and the building is gorgeous. It used to be further out on the cliff as an operational lighthouse, but the ground began to fall from under it so they moved the entire building on railroad tracks back 100... More

It was a nice stop off before reaching the Mohegan Bluffs. Gorgeous views from the area. Fascinating to know that the lighthouse was actually moved several years ago due to erosion.

I've never seen another lighthouse quite like this one. While it's an amazing sight to behold, the most interesting parts are the view from cliffs and learning about the history of the light and the erosion of the bluffs. Check for hours, it's more interesting when there is someone to talk to in the gift shop.

Great view, not much to do there. Views from atop the cliffs. The place was in the midst of construction while we visited.
