I've been to Block Island a number of times over the last couple of years, taking my boat down there with different groups of people. This was the first time we had time to rent bikes, and ride around the island. Our first stop was the Southeast Lighthouse -- a beautiful brick and stone lighthouse that was moved back from... More

Make a visit to this lighthouse a priority for your sightseeing on Block Island. It’s a beauty! It's one of the most attractive sights on the island. Bring your camera, binoculars, and sturdy lighthouse-climbing shoes. If you don’t have a car with you, rent a moped or take a taxi to see it. Walking or bicycling are not recommended due... More

This lighthouse is a must see. It is well kept up and there are beautiful views with a great breeze (at least when we went). The bike ride up was a bit more difficult than we expected as it was uphill but the ride back into town was much easier. If you are not an athletic person I would recommend... More

Enjoyed the lighthouse. I do, however want to add my perspective about the walk from the ferry. Online it says 25-30 minutes, and I see comments here about it being a little over a mile from the ferry. This wasn't my experience (today). I tend to walk a 20/minute mile when I am really "walking" and not strolling. It took... More

This lighthouse was very nice. It was moved a number of years ago and is well kept. Recommend you visit when the building is open. Volunteer was very knowledgable about the light and the area.

When we were last at the Southeast Light House in 1993 it was in the process of being moved back on the bluff to prevent it from collapsing and falling into the sea. It was an amazing feat and returning 21 years later, you cannot tell that it was repositioned. It is a beautiful structure and the scenery is peaceful... More

Southeast Lighthouse is located right next to the Bluffs and still a functioning lighthouse. You can go in and tour the building as well as take in the beauty of the bluffs. Be sure to bring your camera!

Great views; interesting history of lighthouse. We did not take the tour of lighthouse tower, but just read the plaques and went in to see very tiny gift shop. There was a mobile snack shop that was parked at entrance of park.

We had the best tour guide for our lighthouse tour. He was able to talk about the history of the light house including the moving of the lighthouse in 1993. He was very knowledge and enthusiastic to tell us about the frennel glass used in the lighthouse and the history of the glass which is still used to light this... More

Architecturally interesting gothic brick lighthouse, with a green Fresnel lens. Set back from its original location because the cliffs are eroding. Nice field for a picnic with a view, especially now that a food truck parks nearby daily in season.
