Sachem Pond is a lovely large pond located at the North Point on Block Island. It is part of the wildlife bird refuge managed by U.S. fish and Wildlife. There's a little beach just behind the parking lot, and the water is a lot warmer than the ocean. Once you get off the sand it's a bit mucky, but the setting is lovely and it makes a nice dip.

worth the bike ride--it's peaceful, and there were some animals which made taking pictures more interesting.

Whether by bike, scooter or car, this is a lovely area with nice views of the North Lighthouse. Great hiking across the road.

I recall hearing this pond is a fresh water pond but I do recall many times as a kid during storms seeing the ocean flow over the road into the pond.
