The beaches on the south side of Block Island are the most spectacular, set beneath towering cliffs. Some sections are rocky, but there are long stretches with soft sand (and vigorous waves). My husband and I had our first nude beach experience earlier this year in Florida and were looking forward to finding other beaches where nudity is acceptable (if... More

Beautiful, secluded beach with great waves. Be careful of the rocks and undertow, more for wading to cool off than swimming here. Please take your garbage with you!

A must see. Beautiful but challenging. We enjoyed the view and the challenge of the climb. Loved hanging on the beach making rock towers too

I loved the big stairs (150) down, the gorgeous bluffs, the hand built cairns all over the beach, the natural beauty.

Just be careful climbing down! Mohegan Bluffs has undergone some changes due to erosion, and I had heard that things had changed at the bottom. We used to go down there and spend the day when the children were younger, with beach chairs and grand-parents. It's a different place now, but even more beautiful.

My family made the hike up to the Bluffs right off the ferry ship! It was about 1.75 miles and took about 30 minutes. Then we had to made the climb down to the beach. Most of it was stairs until you reach about 15 feet from the bottom. That's when it becomes a little tricky. It's best to wear... More

Make the effort, pack a lunch, rent a bike, pedal uphill most of the way, then hike down over a hundred steps to one of the most wondrous sites on the east coast! The Bluffs are grand and breathtaking, the beach at the bottom glorious, and the water is pure and sparkling clean! You may see crowds on the beach... More

Amazing scenery, easy ride or stroll from old harbor. A must see for Block Island. Helpful hint - wear sneakers with good tread for walking/climbing down the rocky part after the stairs!

Loved the Views, Disliked the many many many stairs to climb down ( and back up) if you want to get to the beach below.

This is a beautiful location but be forewarned you will have to step down and climb 145 stairs. At the bottom you will have to climb over rocks and dirt to reach the beach. This can be tricky so if you are not up to it stay on the deck. It would be nice if the stairs made it to... More
