We visited the York County Agricultural & Industrial Museum at 217 Princess Street in York, Pennsylvania. This was well worth a visit. The museum was well coordinated and clean. Within, one could re-live the booming industrial age of Pennsylvania.....the beginning of air conditioning, flight, automobiles, telephones, printing, pianos, modern coffins, weight lifting equipment, screen doors and locked safes. They have... More

Had a link in my family tree that lead us to York PA to do a little digging. Found the research center and inquired regarding the family name. What we didn't expect was the wealth of knowledge and materials that the helpful and friendly staff and volunteers had on hand. We not only found our link, but apparently, my ancestors... More

My family and I enjoyed an exceptional tour of the Gates House and Plough Tavern. The guide was knowledgeable not only of the site but of the historical context. We learned a lot about an extremely well-preserved space. Must must must tour this spot if you visit York.

This is a grand building and a very nice collection of artifacts. They have a very good library and historical collection. The volunteer and professional staff are very knowledgeable about York County and the items in the collection. If you are searching for a relative this should be one of your first stops.

We visited this site with a 6 yr. old and father from California. It was facilitated by a guide. the various working parts of the museum = which is QUITE expansive - was quite awesome. most delightful hour + tour. MANY industries have contributed to the dioramas and working displays. Vehicles, machinery, and many surprises are here to enjoy.

As so many other travelers have remarked, this is an amazing museum. Basically it covers all the contributions companies, employees and every day citizens from the York,PA area have made to society over the past 100-150 years. And it's a lot more than you can imagine! The museum is open on a fairly regular schedule but does host events and... More

Don't miss. We were amazed at how much history was here. Everything in here has a tie to York or Pennsylvania. Very informative. It's in an old factory building. Plan to spend a few hours. I definitely would recommend this attraction.

My husband and I loved this Museum out of every tour we took on our York Tour trip. From the Trolley Car , Antique Cars, Phone Company Memorabilia , down to the agricultural and Industrial equipment. Seeing is believing!!! Worth the walk-through. Nice gift shop too. Real education for the kids. Museum Staff are very helpful, courteous and will go... More
