Description:

Because of the food safety restrictions, we can no longer offer tours through our production area. However we are able to provide a revised tour that includes a presentation of our history and a chocolate experience of how we make chocolate by hand and candy that cannot be made on a machine. You will see and learn how chocolate is tempered and how to make hollows. We also have a video available that shows plant production.

Currently our chocolate experience is available Monday thru Thurs at 1pm however with larger groups we may be able to accommodate other times.

Also, our Das Sweeten Haus retail store and museum are open most days. The Das Sweeten Haus museum features illustrations of old-time American candy craftsmen. You'll see many special display cases filled with wooden sugar molds, glass candy jars, and many other priceless antiques. You'll also see a video of the Wolfgang candy-making process ... Along with a complete history of the Wolfgang family who made their candy making dream come true in York, PA back in 1921.

We went to the company in the days after the blizzard, so parking was difficult, but it was worth it. Our little tour was conducted by the wonderful lady who does the hand made molds, and runs the store. She took us through the process of making chocolate molds and the science behind it. It is a sweet subject. The... More

We visited this business in September, 2015. We had planned on going on the tour, but the time coincided with another tour we also wanted to go on elsewhere in York. Because of this, the one worker suggested we sit and watch the videos that were being played on the TV that showed a little bit of the candy making... More

I have been here on multiple occassions to take the tour with our moms group, with my kids and family and more. I love the "small town" feel and they really do a great job. The smells are amazing and it's just adorable. Check out the dollhouses!

Went with a senior group and really enjoyed it. Lots of candy and some good deals. They sell seconds that are a great deal.

The three members of our group were the only ones taking the tour on the afternoon of our visit, so we probably got a more personalized version. Our candy maker/guide gave us the usual history of the company, but we spent the rest of the time back by the kitchen area where the handmade items are produced. She brought out... More

Nice and friendly. The girl helped us by answering some questions and gave a brief history of the soda fountain area.

Wolfgangs is truly a York treasure. The candy is very tasty and good prices to boot. It is too bad that they do not give factory tours. Worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth.....😁😁😁 Ann Kroh-Hughes

Stopped off at the Wolfgang store and picked up some great candy. Service was excellent. A little disappointed that they dont do the factory tours anymore. Great place to stop and get great chocolate.

While the store if great they no longer take you to the factory on the tour anymore despite being on the list. They do a small "presentation" now. In the lobby you get a little history (done in a rather cheesy and boring way) then all are crowded into the small shop to peer through a window to see the... More

We are sorry you were disappointed in the experience. Enhanced food safety regulations will not allow for our prior tour experience until or unless we redesign the facility. We've made modifications to our website and to Trip Advisor to alert the public. We hope you enjoyed the candy and are happy you enjoyed the demonstration. More

Went for the chocolate tour and was disappointed to find out they no longer allow you to go through the factory. The tour consist of hearing about the history of the factory while standing in the lobby and then seeing an employ make a hollow chocolate item from a mold.
