Description: Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle...
Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, PA assembles the Touring, Softail(R), CVO™ and Trike models. They also perform a variety of manufacturing operations - making parts like frames, fuel tanks, and fenders. At the Vaughn L. Beals Tour Center, you'll explore exhibits that detail the manufacturing and assembly processes of the factory. You'll also have the chance to sit on current production motorcycles and visit the gift shop for tour-related souvenirs. The Kids Corner, a specially designed area for visitors under the age of 12, makes the York facility an ideal family destination. Your factory tour begins with an introductory video and continues on the factory floor where you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the people, processes and products of Vehicle Operations. You'll be guided through the manufacturing of key components and the assembly of Softail, Touring, CVO and Trike motorcycles. Then it's on to the end of the line, where every motorcycle is roll-tested prior to shipping. Over the years, thousands of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts have made the journey to York, Pennsylvania to witness passion forged in steel.

This was a very professional tour. Try to schedule your visit when they are in production. This is a must do if you are in the area. It was great to see where my ride was put together.

Great tour with lots of good information but unfortunately it was a non-production day so not as much to see. We will go back another time to see things in action. Well worth the time either way though. CLOSED TOE SHOES REQUIRED.

There are three levels of tours offered. The first is a walk around the showroom floor to see the bikes made at the York facility. The second is an abbreviated tour of the manufacturing floor. Access is restricted. The third and most expansive tour is called the "Steel Toe Tour" which takes you into the heart of the plant. You... More

THE BEST!! We enjoyed every thing about the tour and the facilities. Amazing place. So clean. So organized. So dedicated to their end product. Wonderful. If you're a biker with a Harley-Davidson, it's a must see! Would love to come and do the Steel Toe Boot tour in late August!!

Decided to take the free tour instead of the steel toed tour because of our 11 year old daughter and the age restriction. The free tour was informative, detailed, and very well designed. The entire tour was 45 minutes and the tour guide was knowledgeable. Products in the gift shop were reasonably priced and we were each given a postcard... More

Great opportunity to see an American Icon being manufactured. Tour guides are very knowledgeable. There is a well stocked tour center to buy clothing and souvenirs.

The one hour free tour gives you a lot of information on the company, its products and the factory operations. The preliminary film is far more adverting than historic, but it is fun. Before you take the tour there is a room where you can sit on a number of different bikes. There is also a large gift shop, but... More
