The lake swimming is great. The lake is roped off into several areas, each with a relatively constant depth. One area is the kiddy pool and the area go up from there. There is a nice sandy beach. The children were catching the largest tadpole I have ever seen, each almost the size of a golf ball. The concession food... More

Spent a weekend in the area. Hawk falls was my favorite. Beautiful and easy hike. Boulder field is amazing. Unknowingly we found our way back while driving to another trail, otherwise you can hike back. Tried shades of death trail but found it not well marked and we were unsure where this trail should be going so we turned back.... More

When ever we get together as an extended family which includes two active seniors, three middle age adults, and five kids from 19 to 6 in age, we always look for something interesting and/or different in the way of outdoor activity. This year we met in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains and stayed near Hickory Run State Park. Everyone agreed we had... More

This park has everything. Boulder field is amazing, me and the family spent a wonderful day climbing on the boulders and visiting the swimming area of the lake.

Spent 3 nights in site 102, nice and level on the edge of the woods with privacy from the sites to each side. Quiet and dark at night. Clean table and fire ring. Many hiking trails and things to do including the boulder field. Bath rooms and showers were modern and clean.

We went here for a weekend tent camping trip. The place was crowded but everything was clean and working properly. The lake is very nice, there are loads of picnic tables available, Boulder Field is definitely worth a visit and there are plenty of hiking trials.

We have spent 2 days exploring Hickory Run. We love these types of parks and wish we had more time to walk the trails. Boulder Field is a must. You can drive right to the field. We also hiked to Hawks Falls. The falls are beautiful. The hike down is very easy. The hike back is a little bit harder.... More

Hiked the Shades of Death and Sand Spring trails. Saw some nice summer flowers blooming. There were tons of mosquitos so cover up or put on some repellant.

Great place to spend some time...on the rocks! Only drawback is the long dirt / gravel trail in and out. The rest of the park is also a must visit.
