Camping adventure

Beautiful place. Amazing scenery. Breathtaking waterfalls and trails. Sites are alittle cramped tho. Not a far walk to Sandy lake for swimming.

Many campsites, all in a wooded setting. there is a small lake for swimming, hiking trails, and the Lehigh river is close by. The camp store is well stocked, amazingly so for a small store. We were there for a weekend in early August in the campground area that provides electric. The camp sites were about 70% full. The restroom... More

While the lake and beach can become crowded on a summer weekend, the hiking trails are fantastic with outstanding views of creeks, Lehigh River, rhododendrons, rock outcrops. Get out on one of the longer trails and you will soon leave any crowds behind. Boulder field is well worth a stop.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, took our kids there, & still like to go for a ride & end up there. Its nice to go for a walk on the beach because there's a paved walkway made of stamped concrete. You can walk without stepping over people and their "Stuff" They updated this park since I... More

Very pretty park. We hiked the Hickory Falls trail for part of the way. My nieces loved the waterfall. The water levels were low, so it was easy to cross the creek and get closer to the waterfall. We also hiked the Boulder Field trail. It was pretty, but looked pretty much the same with no things of interest until... More

Had a great day hiking over the boulders, next to multiple waterfalls and miles of up/ down trails! Friendly staff. Wonderfully maintained. Fun and activities for the entire family. Will definitely go back to explore more!

We attempted the Hawks fall trail to see the waterfall. The fall itself and pools of water are beautiful BUT if the parking lot is full or overflow parking is being used I would strongly suggest waiting and going another day. It was too crowded to enjoy the beauty and what could be serene place. The Boulder fields were amazing... More

I spent an afternoon in the park, hiking to Boulder Field. The brochure describes the hike as "more difficult" and told us to expect the round trip to take 4-5 hours. We kept waiting for the difficult part to kick in as it was mostly flat and an easy walk. It took us less than three hours of hiking, but... More

Beautiful large state park with plenty of woods and camping too. We wanted to see Boulder Field which itself is a tourist sight. It was a huge area with lots of boulders about the size of 2 footballs fields all together surrounded by trees. The parking was nearby so you did not have to hike in. The road getting there... More
