Excellent setting, big, wooded sites on the loop we were on, plenty of hiking trails and, of course, the Boulder Field. In my view one of PA's best state parks!

Very nice bike riding trail. It follows a scenic river. Starting at White Haven you can ride 9 miles to Rockport or 22 miles the town of Jim Thorpe. The bike trail has a very gentle downhill slope. It is not enough to coast but is very easy peddling. We didn’t have our bikes with us so we rented then... More

Hiked the skyline trail. It was a strange cool/warm wet day in March. But so peaceful, scenic and naturally lovely.

This was a great way to spend the day...saw the falls at the old dam...very nice to see. Then went to the bolder field...it is very impressive...BUT...keep in mind...on March 28th the road back to the bolder field is CLOSED...so if you are not prepared for an eight plus mile walk round trip then you may want to come back... The trails were wide enough for two people with few branches or obstructions. In warm weather, the trees and shrubbery look like it will be great for photos and hiking. They are relatively flat, too.

I love to walk around Hickory Run State Park! There are so many nice trails and interesting things to see. I highly recommend exploring this park for couples, families, etc. Great places for kids to run around. I haven't been there in awhile but I'm planning on going again in the spring. If it ever gets here!

We had visited the Park several years ago and decided to stop in to see the Boulder field. we stopped at the park office for information and found out that the road to the "Boulder Field" was closed to motor vehicles and was only available to snowmobiles. We probably spent half an hour discussing the park with the attendants. They... More
