This was the fourth year in a row that we were able to camp at Hickory Run State Park. We have gone at various times during the summer and would like to go back in the fall for a little cooler weather camping. We generally camp in a walk-in site since they are back from the center of the tent... More

We actually spent half a day here on our first day in the Poconos. Practically had the lake to ourselves and enjoyed some swimming with the little fishes. Boulder Field was a must see and something you just can't explain. We also hiked to Hawk Falls where my husband and 13 year old decided to climb down and swim in... More

Went to this State Park to see Hawk Falls. The hike to the falls is not difficult, but is confusing as signage is nonexistant. The falls are slight right off from the main trail just past crossing the footbridge!! An even more interesting site is the "Boulder Field" elsewhere in the park. Looking at this large field of stones will... More

We camped along with 6 other families of friend (20 adults + teen and 10 Kids). The camp site has no camping pad/platform which forced us to set our camp on rocky ground. Camp site is too small with no obvious separation between two camp sites. My neighbor (Who was there before us) setup their camp half way on our... More

I've always wanted to see the boulder field! On a recent trip home we stopped by the park to see what was there since reading so much about it and always wanting to visit. It certainly didn't disappoint. First we went to the lake. It was very peaceful but provided lots of entertainment. The next time that we go I... More

If you like peace and quiet and contemplating with nature, this is the place for you. Easy to get to and part of the beautiful countryside of Penn! If you get bored, you can always go to a casino or race track in the Poconos.

We went to Hickory Run State park and made a day of it. Spent about an hour at the boulder field which was very fun to make your way across. Saw a few deer while driving through from one spot to another. We went to the beach area which had picnic tables and we at the lunch that we brought.... More

We camped one weekend at the park...made our reservations too late in the week and had to stay in the section with only pit toilets. They were in fairly good shape, but we had to drive to the newer section to take showers. Our campsite bordered a very large open field which was good for the amateur astronomer next to... More

Park with not alot of services. The boulder field is amazing but off of a 6 miles dirt road loop with very little parking. No rangers anyplace. Roads that are paved are in bad shape.
