Yo get to ride on vintage raildoad equipment for a short run from town out into the country along a scenic stream. It is about a twenty five minute ride out at a slow pace. There is a stop at a picnic area where you can get out a stretch or eat a quick lunch you packed. Whistles signal the... More

We've done the Santa Train ride a couple times. The ride is bumpy. Always fun when Santa visits and when the musicians get the entire train car singing festive tunes. The cars aren't heated (or if they are, not very well), so be sure to dress appropriately. We took along a thermos of hot chocolate and some non-messy snacks for... More

Went on the train ride over Memorial Day weekend. It was a nice ride. The passenger cars could use a face lift but over all it was a good experience. My son loved the train ride. :-)

Took our children on the Santa train this year, from West Chester to the old Glen Mills train station and back. There is a modest snack car, although the line can get unwieldy and you may spend more time there than with your family. Some families we saw brought their own snacks (smart!) Full of charm, train cars are a... More

We are glad that you had a good time on our Santa Express train. We did a major overhaul of our snack car operations, and took great strides in improving both the quality of the food served, as well as the service. Unfortunately, there are still a few things that need to be worked out. Our 100% all-volunteer staff are... More

It's hard to beat the ride on a steam engine. Pick a theme trip and try it at least once. It's a fun few hours for the family.

With young kids riding on trains remains exciting. We had a lovely ride through the fall. Hot cocoa on the train, a fun conductor to chat about some history, a short visit to a historic site at the end of the ride in Glenn Mills, some jumping around in the woods and streams, then a ride back. Cannot think of... More

We are glad that you enjoyed your ride on the West Chester Railroad. We are indeed spoiled living in this area of Pennsylvania and the excellent scenery it has to offer. Our trip along the Chester Creek gives you the chance to possibly see some deer or other wildlife from the comfort of our 1930's era coaches. Hopefully your next... More

We were impressed by this bunny train. There was banjo music my kids really enjoyed and of course plenty of visits from the bunny who made his way through the train two or three times.

Box car does this trip a couple of times a year. They serve their own brew for the trip. Music and food at Glen Mills for a couple of hours and a ride back to a West Chester. There was Mango Ginger Ale, an IPA and a Brown ale served the whole time. It's about 3 hours total.

Had a wonderful time this afternoon on the Santa Express!! This is the perfect train experience for young children as it is no too long and they are entertained the whole way with a sing a long and Santa visiting all the cars. The snack car had hot dogs, pretzels, hot chocolate and a few other things all very reasonably... More
