We live less than 5 hours from here and had never heard of Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon until last year when we were in the West. So on a trip back from Toronto thought we would take a side trip! The town of Wellsboro was darling looking, but we didn't have time to stop. The ten mile trip from the town... More

If you like breathtaking views of nature at it's best, you should be sure to visit Leonard Harrison State Park at least once in your life. If you are up to it, you can hike to the bottom and walk along the stream that carved out this magnificent canyon in Pennsylvania. You'll see nature at it's best including a waterfall... More

Being spoiled by visiting the Real Grand Canyon in AZ, the Grand Canyon of PA is beautiful...but not the same kind of breathtaking. The Turkey Trail is 1.5 miles down...with many switchback, leading you down to the bottom of the Canyon. It was beautiful greens with bright rusts needles the whole way down. We were lucky since it rained heavily... More

Wear good hiking shoes, be prepared for rain, make sure you have a hiking stick and oh what a treat it will be. We tried to hike the turkey trail, one is easier than the other but both take you to amazing views of the canyon. The fall colors were breathtaking. We got lost during our hike and in no... More

We visited on a Saturday with the sole purpose of hiking the trails. Two trails are available at the visitor center. The Turkey Path is a 2 mile round trip down the hillside to the creek. It's marked frequently that it is dangerous. It was pouring rain but we were underterred. The waterfall part way down was worth it. The... More

We were hoping to see at least one eagle and we were thrilled to be able to watch an eagle sitting on a branch. For about an hour we viewed this magnificent bird through our binoculars. Several visitors came and we were able to point to where the eagle was resting. Oh, the center has short videos on the park... More

Beautiful, clear day to see Pine Creek at the bottom of the gorge. Because of my husband's bad back, we didn't hike down the mountain to the waterfall but we watched the two films about the park as compensation.

Small gift shop and little area to view stuffed animals... The view itself is great; and offers great photo ops... A couple of trails (i.e. Turkey Path) are recommended if you have time. Great waterfall view... And, keep an eye open for Eagles.

If you want to see the view with the least amount of trouble go to Leonard Harrison on the east rim of the canyon . Easy walk to viewing area and there are a few different viewpoints. Leonard Harrison Park has camping and just seems to be better maintained. They also have a gift shop. There is also a lot... More

This is a spectacular State Park. Clean and beautiful. Wonderful trails and great outdoor experience. We camped nearby and hiked into the park with our dogs. Just a breathtaking vista at daybreak with fog rising from the floor of the canyon.
