I took 9 other people with me and stayed 3 days and 2 nights at the Whitewater Challengers camp grounds. Checking in was easy and painless. The rented tent was set up when we arrived and we had a large plot to worth with. Both bathrooms, and showers did the job and were what we were expecting. The store and... More

We did the 9+ Lehigh River dam release whitewater rapids trip today and I’ll start by saying that our family had a terrific time (our kids are 11 and 14). But that’s in spite of our safety concerns that makes us doubt whether we’d go back. First, I think that whitewater rafting is where the ski industry was a little... More

Whitewater Challengers has provided, and will continue to provide helmets for any of our guests who wish to use them. Per the reviewer’s suggestion we will work to make the offering of helmets more prominent and more visible on the web site and at the rafting center. We’ve offered, and will continue to offer specific safety instruction in person and... More

We did the rafting trip for ages 7+ because we weren't sure what to expect. We had a great time! The process was pretty streamlined. We were there on a dam release day and had high water but the rapids were fine. We are already looking forward to going back for more! The guides were very good. We lost one... More

The 7+ Dam Release or Natural Flow white water rafting trips are great for first time rafters. We have more exciting rapids to conquer next time. Our most popular trip on the Lehigh River is the dam release (must be age 9+). Or try the Hudson, Black, or Salmon River in upstate NY. Tip for the footwear: if you are... More

We had a trip down the Hudson Gorge in August 2015 with our amazing guide Drew. It was myself, my girlfriend, and our 5 kids ages 8-14, and it was really one of the best all -time things we have done as a family. I can't speak highly enough about the experience. Drew was outstanding! Incredibly patient, funny, motivating, and... More

Short and sweet the trip was great and not too expensive. We didn't know when booking that it would be mostly large parties (we were booked for two) but we got some great people in our raft. There is no staff in your raft but they are in kayaks guiding people down the river. It's class 2 and 3 rapids... More

Thanks for the great comments. Rafting the Lehigh River is a great option for an adventure whether you have 2 people or 40 people. Rafts on the Lehigh River seat 5-7 people so you will get paired up with a few new friends for the day if you come with 4 or less. Our Class II, III+ whitewater trips are... More

Just did my fourth or fifth trip here and it's always a lot of fun. The guides are great and the afternoon passes too quickly. Depending on the age demographics of your raft expect to get wet. The bailing buckets are used for as much splashing as bailing. Most of the other members of my raft were be age of... More

Yes, definitely be prepared to get wet. After all you are rafting Class I, II, II+ rapids on the Lehigh River. In the sections of calm there is often time for swimming and splashing depending on water conditions and particulars of the trip. Each rafting experience is as fun as the last - we'll see you again for rafting trip... More

Very organized and efficient. Our guide, Cory, was awesome! Not only did he know the waters, he had so much information about the area. Lunch and dinner were delicious. Everyone was friendly and worked with each other.

This Grammy took my 9 & 12 year old grandkids for their first rafting experience. I chose the family friendly weekday trip, which was a good decision. It was exciting enough for them without being boring at all. They loved it! The swims, splashing and small rapids were lots of fun. They want to kick it up a notch next... More

Lucky kids! Sounds like a great day with grammy. Our weekday family style rafting trips are perfect for beginners. Try rafting in the spring time or on a dam release whitewater trip (trips suitable for ages 9+) for the next step up on the Lehigh River. On-river time depends on the water levels and the amount of rain we get.... More

This was a fun day on the river. We got the tickets for $30.00 a person. We followed the instructions and arrived early. Breakfast was included and was good. Pancakes eggs ham and potatoes. Thanks for rafting with us! After a few rainy days the water levels are great for rafting. In the summer and fall we offer family style trips on every non-dam release date. These are our most affordable trips with discounted rates for children 14 and under. For an adventure that is the next step up try rafting the Lehigh River... More

Four of us went on a dam release day. It was hot and the our assigned arrival time was 12:20. Because of the crowds, we had to sit on the school bus for quite a while and did not actually get on the river until 3 pm. The 13 mile trip took about 4 hours and then we exited the... More

Part of the fun of the Lehigh River is the challenge of navigating down the river. The guides are in place to ensure the safety of the guests, warn of upcoming rapids, and tell you the best route to take down the river. Occasionally our guests do end up going for a "swim" as we call it. You followed our... More
