Chanticleer epitomizes what can happen when talented gardeners are permitted to use their creativity instead of just their brawn. Chanticleer is the polar opposite of the stilted and stuffy Longwood. You are actually allowed to run or roll down the hill near the estate house. I cannot tell you how much my teens enjoyed doing this as children. No plant... More

Was told this is where they filmed Twilight (Chanticleer Point). I hate those movies. The view was alright, but too windy to take a pic without getting blown over!

Chanticleer has pristine manicured grounds. The architecture is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit for a tour of the property!

It's called a "pleasure garden" and combines art with nature. They've transitioned ruins of a structure with plantings and slabs of rock to resemble books, a reflecting pool, another pool of water with masks that float under the surface. "Living room furniture" was created from slabs of rock, there's a lotus garden, a pool house where you can sit and... More

Beautiful tranquil manicured gardens. It is a mini Longwood Gardens right on the Main Line. Children love it, but if you yourself want to relax in a private garden or even take a book and sit in one of the many tranquil spots and read a book you will love the time spent wandering or just sitting.

Nestled in the estate neighborhood of Radnor ,are the unique gardens within the Chanticleer Estate. Here visitors can wander throughout the well manicured grounds and experience a similar feeling that one would find at Longwood Gardens or Winterthur .Without traveling the 25 miles or so to reach those destinations .

We love Chanticleer. We drive the 2.5 hours from our home to Wayne, PA yearly, usually in May or early June, to enjoy the absolutely gorgeous gardens of Chanticleer (http://www.chanticleergarden.org). What I particularly like about Chanticleer is that on Friday evenings you are permitted to bring a picnic basket to dine wherever you would like througout the gardens (devine!). "Chanticleer... Chanticleer is an amazing place for strolling beautiful and ever changing gardens; picnicking with friends; getting inspiration for floral arrangements and landscaping; or just the pure escapist fun of plunking down on one of the many chairs dotting the garden and pretending that this is your home. One thing to note is that while children are welcome, their balls and... More

This was the outstanding garden on our three week journey through NE USA. It was a wonderful surprise with its gorgeous garden spaces, remarkable plant associations and extensive views. The volunteers here deserve mention too, so enthusiastic and helpful, their recommendatios for specific parts of the garden are well worth listening to. If you live near Chanticleer and you haven't... More

As a professional horticulturist I have visited many public gardens and arboreta, but I have never walked a garden as lovely as this place. Each outdoor room was a delight--the entire place luring you from one tranquil yet fascinating spot to the next. It both soothes and titillates with its emphasis on foliage and texture and a rich comfort being... More
