This is a pretty place to visit. Across the street and down the road a little are rocks with spring water running down them. Very pretty and the water is delicious and cold. You can see the fish in the water. The water is clean, Continue on Rt 59 for beautiful scenic byway to route 6 brings you into Smethport.... More

We have a fishing camp about 10 miles from the Kinzua Dam.We visit the Dam every year & make sure we take bread along with us to feed the enormous fish, ducks & the birds will sweep in & steal the bread mid-air.Some walking trails around that are cool.My favorite is a sign at the boat ramp before you get to... We brought our boat up to Kinzua for a little fishing and to just plain "escape". Forget your cell phone, little reception once you're away from the Dam. We cruised around this large lake (over 100 miles of shoreline) and fished along shore (25 to 40 feet of water) drifting minnows. We caught walley and a nice northern. Boats can... More

Kinzua is a beautiful and a sacred place. We launch at Onoville Marina and go north for quiet parts of the lake and south for bigger water and more boats. There are eagles and Ospreys and plenty of deer and bear. Onoville general store is great for subs, pizza, and anything you might need. If you want a sit down... More

The drive anywhere close and nearby the dam is very real nice. you can stop below or above the dam which both are great picture spots. Route 59 is awesome and goes for miles. Look for wildlife!!

the drive there, the gardens around, the carp, the views.. it's all beautiful. The dam is pretty - wish you could walk across.. but you can only get so far, before the "authorized only" area. The area is quite beautiful. Across the road, are cliffs on the side of the road, with many waterfalls.

We chose to drive throught the Allegheny Forest on our way home from DC after the Dam caught my eye. When we finally arrived, what a sight! The dam has a great history & we would encourage anyome stopping to go to the visitors center first, to learn about the dam and what its purpose is. And you cant beat... More

If you like hiking and mountainous terrain, this is a lovely spot to explore. We took the pets to enjoy the day and were delighted to find trails and the Kinzua Bridge State Park and Skywalk. It's worth the drive to see one of the oldest viaducts in the country. Steam driven trains crossed over the bridge until 2002, when... More
