I worked here for 10 years while going to high school. This is a decent resort with about 1,000 Vertical Feet. Although it does not compare to NE US or out West, it's not a bad ski location in NE PA. Great for beginners and intermediates.

This mountain has terrain for everyone and nice long runs. There is a mogul run that looks deadly for a PA mountain. The conditions were good and had nice grooming. I absolutely HATE how you have to park. There is no place for unloading equipment. Well - let me say - there is a place to unload equipment - but... More

Positives: Nice selection of groomed trails at all levels of difficulty. Easy access for our large ski club bus. Negatives: Not the greatest facilities. Tough to find a place to change clothing. No access to all day multi use lockers. Slow chair lifts. All in all we had great conditions and many nice trails to choose from; better than other... More

The skiing was very good for north eastern PA - we had superb conditions after a 12+ inch multi-day snowfall. It was very crowded this Presidents Day weekend, but everyone was good-natured. The prices can't be beat in their store or in their lodge - $12 for two hot lunch meals + drinks is a whole lot cheaper than elsewhere.... More

Great conditions for PA, some very fun runs, and I love being able to park where we can right to the parking lot. The midweek crowds are almost non-existent. The lodge hasn't changed much in decades and it shows. The layout is odd, especially for those of us that rented. And they really need to replace one of their slow... More

I am a Rocky Mountain ski snob...this is the only place I will ever consider returning to in the Poconos for skiing....nice trails and much more pleasant than the amusement park crowds you will find at Camelback.

The skiing is second to none in PA. This is why you come and you will be glad you did. The seating, food and lodge is from 1975 and unchanged since. There is no such thing as a comfortable chair in the building to wait while your family heads onto the slopes. Also NO wifi service and almost no cell... More

When looking at ski area reviews for PA and any where on the east coast, remember it is the east coast. The areas can only be so good. There will always be a lack of mountain and natural snow, and they will always over groom when it does snow. That said, the terrain at Elk is fun and the runs... More

For skiers, terrain-wise, this is the best mountain I have skied in the PA/NJ area. Great learning mountain for the kids..... but with an actual bump run for experts that could be a slice of Superstar at Killington, long enough to have you glad its over.... unlike the flat and short bumps, at say, Blue Mountain. But this mountain seems... More

I just returned from a weekend with my 15 year-old son to Elk. It was my second trip there so I feel like I have a reasonably good feel for the place. Let me get the "bad" out of the way first: It's not very exciting. There are really only two lifts servicing the mountain (I don't count the bunny... More
