Exceptionally clean and well maintained facility. I have not camped there but the camping facilities look great. I live nearby and go there very often to fish and hike. Fishing is average, beach is sand and clean, water is clean (usual brackish color from the swamp that feeds the lake but is excellent quality), restrooms/changing facilities are kept very clean... I enjoyed the Tobyhanna State Park & Lake area while I try to do some recreational fishing. The parking area for the Handicapped is also available so disabled fishermen can also enjoy some fishing.

Did all of the Lakeside Trail (blue trail) today. It's a pleasant 5-mile walk around the lake. Note that the "Lakeside" name is kind of a misnomer. Though you can see the lake on some of the South portion of the trail, it's not visible for most of the trail. That's okay - it's a very pleasant walk through the... More

We went to Park office and borrowed fishing rods and tackled box for free under the PA fishing loaner program. It works like the library. Bait was $3 for worms at the boat rental office. It was very windy so paddling was too tough, we tried for 15 minutes, got nowhere so attendant gave us our money back. We fished... More

Tobyhanna state park is a wonderful quiet area, the boat rentals are fantastic and fun!!! perfect place for entire family, or just to be alone with your partner. Cost is only based on camping and boat rentals. Very affordable though

They have a very nice Camp Ground and A Great Lake for fishing for Panfish. The have nice BAss and Sunfish and They rent out Row Boats for those that want to fish in middle of Lake. Best Spot is over by the DAm.

We were in the Pocono region for the fall color and were told about this park. We spent several hours walking the trails and enjoying the beautiful colors around the lake. This is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. We were not camping but in driving through the campground it looked to be a good basic campground that was... More

Oddly enough I stayed here twice in 2013, Memorial Day with just my wife, and then on Labor Day my brother and his family joined us. There are services nearby, and though there is a large military base adjacent to the park, the overall feel is quiet and woodsy. The campground is on the far-side of the lake from the... More
