My husband and kids loved riding in the horse and buggy and asking questions to the Amish driver, who was happy to oblige. I will say I believe he overcharged us a few dollars from the quoted price (he struggled with basic math, needing a calculator) but I was happy to oblige. We enjoyed it and the non-riders were able... More

Our family enjoyed the enclosed horse-drawn wagon ride through the back roads of the Amish countryside. Ike, a retired Amish dairy farmer, was our driver and guide. He was informative, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions about the Amish way of life and the surrounding area. We toured a working Amish farm and stopped at its on-the-premises craft shop... More

My family and I (15 people) had the pleasure of experiencing Ed's Buggy Rides this past weekend in Lancaster. Ed was SO accommodating to our large party and both "tour guides" were fabulous and full of knowledge. I would highly recommend Ed's over the other buggy rides in the area- I have done a few others in the past and... More

Park the car for a bit and step back in time via an old-fashioned horse-drawn, buggy ride through Pennsylvania Dutch country. Ed's got a good set up here. And our buggy driver/guide was quite informative! She did a great job of explaining about Amish practices and customs. I would recommend Ed's Buggy Rides to anyone who is touring this section... We've experienced many other buggy rides, so we have a basis of comparison... Ed's uses an enclosed horse-drawn wagon, which was much easier to climb into than the perhaps "more Amish" buggies, used by some other companies, like Abe's, which are more enclosed, have fewer windows, and are difficult into because of the height, and hard to climb into the... The buggy was 8 passenger 2 horse cart. They provided blankets because it was cold. The guide was not Amish but lived here for years and that is a good thing because they will tell you things the Amish drivers will not. We could not go thru the field because it was too wet. The guide spoke the whole time... More

I have taken a buggy ride with AAA @ the Kettle Kitchen before and had a great time. It was a little commercial but our guide was Amish and very informative. We made a huge circle back to our starting point, allowing us to see different things all the way. I had family members coming to visit and wanted to... More

While we weren't riding in a standard buggy, we were riding together in a carriage pulled by a two horse team. The staff at Ed's Buggy Rides not only were helpful and friendly, but they were also very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. The approximately 45 minute ride took us through an Amish area with explanations of what we... More

We went pretty early in the morning and were fortunate to have a ride with just the two of us and the driver. I think his name was John. We took the hour tour that went to the farm. He was very pleasant and informative about the Amish way of life and answered any questions that we had. It was... More

We had a seasoned Amish driver who was talkative and jovial- pleasant enough to enjoy the sunny summer ride with. Our party of 4 adults and 1 toddler sat in the "Sunday" buggy with another young family of 4. Privacy was not an issue at all. You're not allowed to take photographs of the Amish people (completely understandable- I wouldn't... More
