Fun little 45 min. trip. The rail cars have been restored beautifully. It is a very scenic area. We enjoyed it. more

My family and I went to the Strasburg Rail Road and fhe Railroad Museum of PA today and it turned out to be a great time. We have a 2 year old and a 2 month old infant and we found the whole experience to be fun. We showed up around 1:30 and were easily able to get tickets for... more

I've been coming down to the railroad every year since I was a kid and I love the experience now just as much as I did back then. The railroad is always clean, the equipment is in marvelous condition, and the staff is so friendly that just by visiting two or three days they'll begin to recognize you. And I... more

A few years ago we visited the Strasburg RR and rode in the open air car and had a very nice visit. We chose the picnic lunch option which was lovely. The train stopped half way through the journey at a small area with picnic tables and we enjoyed our lunch in a quiet, peaceful picnic grove across from beautiful... more

My husband, myself and my twin five year olds just returned from a visit to Strausburg Rail Road. It was an amazing experience. The rail cars are so beautifully maintained. It really felt like we had stepped back in time. The highlight for my husband and I was riding the railroad and enjoying the county side. My 5 year olds... more

Young kids will love this, however teens will not be so impressed. We rode in the coach car which is the cheapest ticket but much nicer than the open car which costs $2 more. The cars have been restored and are quite nice and the antique aspect appealed to me. The trip itself was just so-so. You see some nice... more

We visited the train museum and learned a lot. They have a great area for kids and adults to play with trains. It is a problem-solving excercise that is challenging, yet fun. The train ride was a blast. We stayed a lot longer than we expected because it was a great place to visit. more

Took our 8 yr old grandson who loves trains on a "train" weekend. The train was beautifully restored. Was lucky to have chosen the first class car that was the last car. At the half-way point, the engine uncouples and connects with last car and then pulls the train back into the station, our grandson got to see the whole... more

I just don’t understand what some people really expect sometimes. I’ve been reading the posts below and you would think that the railroad is just out to rip people off. True the ride is 20 minutes one way plus a short layover and another 20 minutes back for a total of 45 minutes. But do these people have stop watches... more

My girlfriend and I headed out to Lancaster for the day to see the countryside. Before we left the house we made arrangements to take the Strasburg Railroad via their internet reservation site. We had been very excited to take the tour, having wonderful experiences by train in the past. The train was very clean and the snacks available before... more

Dear "cyackey," We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with your visit. The confusion you describe regarding seating on the Open Air Car is a problem unique to Day Out With Thomas events during the heavy volume times. We recognize this problem and are working to resolve it. Your feedback will further aid in the development of...
