We just came back from visiting to see Thomas at the Strasburg Rail Road and we had a great time. The railroad is right across from the railroad museum so there is plenty to do. After being warned about the crowds for Thomas, we arrived early and were actually surprised to find that it wasn't as crowded or overwhelming as... More

The Strasburg railroad is a great place to bring the family to experience a taste of times gone by. Experience the good ole days and travel back in time on steam locomotive as it travels from the Strasburg station to Paradise Pa. and back. View the beautiful farmlands and watch the Amish out tending to the daily farm chores. Upon... More

The Strasburg runs a first rate operation .Right now they are running a special train to remind people of there history. It's great for adults and children. There is also a dinner train.

I visited Strasburg Rail Road before, and decided this time to try their dinner train ride. I planned to take a group of 10 with us and had a few questions to ask. I called their reservation center 3 times to ask some of the concerns some of us had....this is what I was told Three calls to the Reservation... More

We took the wine and cheese train. The train car was lovely, but it was TOO COLD- too much air conditioning. The wine, cheese and fruit selections were very nice. The staff was very nice. One is served three glasses of wine in a 45 minute period which I think is too much wine in such a short period of... More

We rode the train in the afternoon. The ride was very good. The "conductor" telling the history of the railroad was very good. Even though our kids are all grown it was great to see how all the kids really loved the ride

We were lucky enough to go on Heritage Day when they celebrate the rebirth of the railroad in 1959. What fun! They read the "spiel" from the 1959 ride, we saw the Amish children who followed the trains, and many photographers lined the crossings to snap the engine that pulled the 1959 run. It is a well-run and friendly facility.... More

We caught the last train on a rainy day, but it was warm. They had a special with a single self-powered car that was so comfortable, and so much fun. It ran the same route as the bigger trains, and since there were only 3 of us, the engineer made it a special route to tell us a very personal... More

This was my second visit to the Strasburg Rail Road, and it remains a fantastic place for adults and children. The entire site is clean, well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful. There are a wide variety of activities within the station area as well as a selection of train rides. The prices are very reasonable, particularly when a... More
