We were treated to a Lounge Car- ordered a Cheese and Fruit Platter and a beverage, sat in beautiful and comfortable chairs and just enjoyed the countryside. When we were there the Snow was deep and there were Photographers Everywhere trying to capture the winter beauty. We will go back again- they have a stopping point where you can get... More

There are trains to watch go by all day, the lounge car I purchased tickets for ahead of time was SO pretty and comfortable, with big swiveling armchairs. The kids "fun stuff" wasn't open, it was such a windy day and sort of cold. But we ate at the Trackside Cafe, which is kind of like a Bill Gray's, so... More

My son is not a great fan of Thomas, but he absolutely loved this experience. Day out with thomas is here every June, September and November. Don't go in November unless you have a high tolerance for cold. We froze while we waited. When we arrived, people were already forming lines for our train which was 30 mins away, so... More

This would have been a great, fun ride with kids. For adults, it's nothing special. The train and station area is nice. They give a little history about the train and Strasburg area. Nice views. That's about it.

I bought a combo ticket with the Museum, so saved $3. Since I already had received a discount, I splurged and upgraded the coach train ticket to a lounge car. Good plan. There were 12 large comfy swiveling chairs in the car. I really felt like I went back in time to how travel used to be! They have snacks... More

Booked combo tickets for Railroad Museum and Strausburg Railroad Dining Car. Tickets do not include lunch on the train you pay for that after your meal. Credit cards are accepted on board. Kids "Hobo" boxed lunches where good portions, and they enjoyed their Whoopie Pie deserts. Adult portions where decent sized. Carafes of Lemonade and Sweet Tea are also on... More

We went to the Strasburg Rail Road on March 15th. We arrived at 12:30 and bought tickets for the 1PM train ride. The 1PM ride was sold out, probably because it's one of the first nice weekends we've had in Lancaster County. There were 4 adults and a 2 year old. My 2 year old was free and the adult... More

We took our two daughters, 2 and 4, on a train ride as part of our Lancaster Country Vacation. We figured they could only take so much “Amish Adventure”, so this was a nice way to break the day up. I was surprised at how much the girls really enjoyed their trip. It was their first time on a train... More

Very short steam train ride. Recently started lunch train and trip is really not long enough to be served and finish your lunch. Really good option for families with young children. Inexpensive and it is a fun ride. Would recommend for anyone who enjoys trains. Food on board not bad and again reasonably priced considering the environment. Snowing with snow... More
