Located amidst Amish farmland and near the Strasburg Rail Road and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, this small museum is worth a visit! Hundreds and hundreds of toy trains dating back to the 1800s and up to the latest, set up in static and operating exhibits. We were really impressed by how well the trains were cared for, and how... If you have any current or previous interest in toy trains the National Toy Train Museum is a must see. The trains are presented in protective cases, so don't expect access to them. However, there are several enclosed presentations that allow the visitor to activate train and accessory movement. The facility is very clean and well laid out. Importantly, the... More

Very interactive. Loved that we didn't just get to see everything running, but that we could make the trains run with the push of a button ourselves. It's small, but it's also inexpensive. Definitely worth a stop if you have little ones that love trains.

They had trains from the late 1800's all the way to the modern. Many different set ups that you could interact with. Reasonable admission prices.

If you're really into old toy trains you'll really love this place. We just like them, not love them, which is why it got the rating it did. It's just what you'd expect to find--lots and lots of old trains. They're displayed well and easy to see. So if you LOVE old trains, you'd probably rate it differently than I... More

For anyone who had been serious about toy trains at any point in their life, this is a requirement. In Strassburg, there are a few "train" things you can do. I highly recommend including this museum in your itinerary. You can plan to visit for 1-2 hours.

Our 7 year old loved this very well maintained museum. Husband relived his childhood. Recommend Very current and clean facility.
