We visited Presque Isle State Park in October. The weather was cool and the park wasn't busy. We drove around the island and enjoyed the wonderful views, especially on the Lake Erie side with the lighthouse. The waves were crashing on the rocks and there were benches in the sand to watch them. The lighthouse was so nice. This was... More

Presque Isle State Park is perfectly situated on Lake Erie giving something for everyone to do at their own pace. We started parking our car near the park entrance and riding our bicycles along the very shaded bayside path. Quite a few other bicyclists, skaters and runners were sharing the trail with us in the morning but the wide paved... More

We went to Beach #9 today with our 7 year old. It is the perfect beach for smaller children. The water is clear, sand is nice, and it's not deep. We wanted to go to Beach #11, but it didn't open until 12pm and we arrived at the park at 10am. Bathrooms are gross, but the park is free, so... More

Never knew that this place was exist! What an amazing place! Beautiful beaches, felt just like we were on the ocean. We also love the bicycle trails. It's like a combination of Outerbanks and Hilton Head :)

We aren't near the Jersey beaches any more, but this fills the every now and there need. Waves crashing like the beach. Sandy shore to walk. And if you love to walk or bike, there is a trail you can go on the entire length of the island. Its windy, so even if it's super hot, the wind calms the... More

Beautiful park with over a dozen beaches. In some areas you really do feel like you're at the ocean. The summer crowds can make getting from one end of the peninsula a bit time consuming as cars will be bumper to bumper in and out. The lighthouse tour was really nice and provided a beautiful view from the top. We... More

The park is very pretty. You can walk on the beach or in the trails. You can bring your own bike or rent one in the park. I have 3 children under the age of 8. They were not very impressed when we visited because they were not allowed in the water due to the high bacteria count. There were... More

Beach 8 is the best. You can usually park on the road right by the beach and a row of shade trees with picnic tables. You need cash for the concession stand. 13 miles of flat level bike trails with awesome views. Sara's diner at the entrance to the park has orange sherbert and vanilla swirl cones that are addicting. Waldamere... More

Presque Isle is a local treasure. The walking/biking trails are a great way to spend a warm evening with family. Stick with the weekdays to avoid crowding and start a few miles into the park to get the trails to yourself. If only they could send the smell of saltwater into the air, you'd never need to vacation away from... More
