I am SO glad the buffalo are still in South Park! I've lived in California for many years, but I have such fond memories of visiting the buffalo - regularly! - over fifty years ago! Cheers to Allegheny County for keeping the herd!!!

This is a good go-to for lazy days when you need your kids to run off some steam. We usually go to the park in the morning or after dinner (both times during the week). It's not too crowded and the oldest kids I've ever seen there couldn't have been more than 10 years old. The main structure has a... More

very nice park. It has a wave swimming my pool in the summer and an outdoor ice skating rink in the winter. Miles of walking paths. Come see the herd of buffalo and the peacocks. You can feed the ducks at the nature preserve. At here are free summer concerts on Friday nights in the summer.

Great park for outdoor running, you can pick - run up and down the main paved road; or head off into trails that run through out the park. Every part of the park seems to have high foot track, so you will never feel alone on the trail. There's even a duck heaven pond area that's fun to check out... More

Nice spot to run or walk. My husband is from Pittsburgh, and this is where he always likes to go run when we come visit. There are several miles of trails, which is really nice when you want to be able to change it up.

What a great place for any kind of fun, with family, friends,& little ones, who ever... You can swim, bike, hike, ride the swings, or just enjoy the sun on a blanket, have a picnic. On a cold winter day give the ice skates a try at the rink. You will love this park in any season. There is a fee for the wave... More

It's a nice park. When you compare it to Boyce park and others that are not as nice as they used too. It stands out. The south hills is the cleanest and safest area in pgh inmho. So going here, you don't have to worry about crime as much, and it is kept very clean by both the residents and... More

The park seemed to be a safe place to visit and was also pet friendly. The speed limits were low and cars stayed within the limit. It is a very large park and a lot of people use it but it didn't seem crowded.

I enjoyed walking around South Park while in Pittsburgh - I went to the wave pool and went to dinner at a nice restaurant. There is also miniature golfing and other things to do as well - the parks are fun for kids and you'll see deer everywhere!
