An afternoon strolling through Phipps is a lovely way to spend the day. The different "rooms" featuring tropical, jungle, asian, woodland (and many other) plants and trees are well constructed, and you truly feel you are in Other parts of the world. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. For example, I was interested in a certain ground cover on their... More

We went here on a very snowy day last winter and it was a wonderful way to spend the day. It took us hours to see everything. Especially loved the Bonsai trees and the many varities of orchids. Would highly recommend this place.

Free parking with a short walk to Phipps Botanical Gardens. We spent almost 3 hours visiting all the fascinating areas of plants and wildlife, namely butterflies! Interesting and educational for young and old alike. Finishing up in the gift shop and tea room.

urban paradise in environmentally eco-conscious building with seasonal flower shows throughout the year. Much better maintained than many other conservatories in even larger cities.

easy parking, lots of design areas, great for taking photos, do need to go a couple of times to not only see the change in the season areas, which are great to explore, but also to get the layout of the building. Kids are interested also, along with adults.

Phipps is so beautiful. Over the years they've had some really amazing shows come through. My favorite being the Chihuly show, and a few of those pieces have become permanent parts of the gardens. This is a great place to visit with kids of any age. Younger kids will love the train room (heck I still love the train room)... More

We took time to visit this outstanding facility locate adjacent to the University of Pittsburg. Free parking is available on the median strip of the roadway the facility is located on. The facility is very simple to traverse and the displays are certainly diverse. The staff is excellent and all greet you with a smile. You should allow at least... More

Despite having been to Pittsburgh many times, this was my first visit to the Phipps Conservatory. It is absolutely beautiful, with a huge variety of exotic and beautiful trees, plants, flowers and vegetables. I especially enjoyed the butterfly room and the India Tropical Forest exhibit. I was especially delighted to find that the Conservatory has quite a nice collection of... More

We visited with our kids who are U Pitt Students. If you have a Pitt ID you can get in for very little. You could actually use this as a calm place to study. The orchids were glorious. We liked the variety of plant environments. The outside exhibits are not as extensive as those of Longwood gardens, but are still... More
