Absolutely beautiful - more themes and rooms than you can imagine. You don't have to be a botanist or even an avid gardener to appreciate the beauty you will encounter.

Gorgeous plants and flowers - but we went on a very hot day and the butterfly room and others were difficult to endure

We went to Phipps with my seven year old and Grandma, everyone enjoyed the botanical gardens and there was plenty of things for my little girl to do... including a scavenger hunt. The price for admission was a little high, but still affordable. We plan on returning in December to view the Christmas blooms.

If coming to Pittsburgh, visiting Phipps Conservatory is a MUST. Well worth the visit. And if you already live in Pittsburgh, it is a no brainer. There are tons of classes available for adults as well as children, seasonal displays and activities. Always something new. Huge variety of flora, butterfly section and Indian, Japanese and Edible produce sections, $15 entry is a bit on the higher side for non-members.

I love the Phipps any time of the year, but Christmas, well, it's extra special then. From the train exhibit, to the bonsai trees, the beautiful pieces of glass that Dale Chihuly crafted - to the masses of flowers that honor the holiday, Phipps is a place to get your cheer on. The cafeteria is delicious - and healthy, and... More

Among conservatories I have visited in the US, this is a stunner, outstanding. After a leisurely two hours, enjoying and photographing, we had just gotten through the main conservatory and traditional rooms and to the newer Indian tropical forest conservatory, and hadn’t even gotten to the new green buildings, when it was time to meet friends for lunch in the... I went to Phipps as part of a mini reunion of sorts with three old college roommates. I hadn’t been there since I was a kid. The website said to allow approximately 90 minutes for the walk-through, and we finished in exactly that amount of time. For us, it was great place to walk and talk. The gardens are indeed... More
