We visited with our kids who are U Pitt Students. If you have a Pitt ID you can get in for very little. You could actually use this as a calm place to study. The orchids were glorious. We liked the variety of plant environments. The outside exhibits are not as extensive as those of Longwood gardens, but are still... More

Phipps has always been a wonderful place to spend time, but with its new sustainable ventures, and expanded spaces, it is a truly wondrous place now. The range of botanical specimens, and the organization of the spaces is spectacular.

Phipps is a jewel in the crown of public horticulture in this country. Its sustainable construction and its many efforts to identify and illustrate the science behind saving the planet make it also one of the country's cutting-edge educators. No trip to Pittsburgh would be complete without a visit to this beauty. In any season, the horticulture is astounding. There's... More

Our friend who lives in Pittsburgh insisted we go, and we are so glad we did. This is an amazing place and well worth the price of admission. It is a haven for anyone who loves plants and gardening, and the displays change regularly. We saw the Plants of India exhibit which was lovely. The structure is also a delight,... More

Displays change with the season. Always a pleasant place to spend some time, especially in the winter. Nice cafe.

I took a friend to the Conservatory, mostly because she loves plants and flowers. Both of us were impressed for the beauty of this place. We did really enjoy it.

Phipps is a fabulous botanical garden offering a special experience whether escaping the Pittsburgh winter weather or celebrating the growing season. They offer nice programs for children to get their hands dirty. The Chihuly exhibit was marvelous and now some glass sculptures are on permanent display. I love the orchids room. But whatever room I am in is my favorite.... More

My favorite time to go to the Phipps Conservatory is in the winter. It's like visiting a warm place instead of a Pittsburgh winter. It always smells so good. My sons enjoy the railroad when it's there.

Went on a picture perfect day, and send friends the next day. The gardens are beautiful and we had the added bonus of electric train exhibits running through the gardens and the Chiuly Glass Sculptures as well. A do not miss show stopper.

We live in Pittsburgh and visit Phipps several times a year to see the changing displays. We are never disappointed. During the summer, be sure to check out the water gardens on the grounds. The water lilies are gorgeous. Christmas is my favorite time to visit and has become a tradition of ours. Be sure to have a full camera... More
