What a simply wonderful place to wander. Visiting Pittsburgh as a central meeting place, we wanted to walk, be outside and still be able to duck out from the rain. Phipps fit the bill and surprised us both. Keep to the right is good advice, cuz the paths are rather narrow not allowing for 2 way traffic. The world 's... More

Plant and nature lovers will spend a wonderful couple of hours wandering through the themed greenhouses. There are interactive train settings in almost every room. Don't miss the children's garden outside. The roof garden, edibles garden and bonsai area outside are all charming. Spending time in venue is good for the soul.. We were there in August, and there was... More

I have been visiting Pittsburgh for years, but had never been to Phipps prior to my August 2014 visit. Pittsburgh is a great city for kids, with many different activities. Phipps blends some of the best aspects of a museum, a park, a botanic garden, and a children's museum all in one. Each room not only has plants and flowers,... More

The flowers and water features are great. It takes about 2 hours to go through all the different gardens. Try the resturant inside the conservatory for lunch, it's great. Good tasting food and plenty of vegetables on the menu. Very good for vegetarians. Really enjoyed going there.

We had been here before in the early spring and saw nice displays inside; however, we just visited in August and loved the outdoor displays even more than what was inside. Be sure to see the roof gardens and the edibles - I never knew how some of those varieties grew. A worker was more than happy to answer all... More

It's hard to compete with Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania (where we are from) but the conservatory has some very beautiful plantings. Romero (the corpse flower) was fun to see. It takes about 2 hours to roam through.

We have a beautiful botanical garden in buffalo - but Phipps is on steroids compared to ours- what a wonderful place- pittsburgh should be proud to have such a jewel like this to showcase! Loved the trains going through the gardens- so much to love- highly recommend

The Friday evening late hours are appreciated. The train exhibits were very nicely done. The gift shop has a nice selection of items at reasonable prices

I've been coming to Phipps since the mid '90s, when i was only 5! I have been a continuous member since 2010. Its a wonderful, year-round attraction that everyone from Pittsburgh should be proud of, and out-of-towners should visit! Constantly changing, no 2 visits are the same! They offer SO much! -Beautiful gift shop -A healthy café that uses ingredients... More

My son and I visited the Conservatory in August 2014. Our visit took approximately 2 hours. It was much bigger than any other conservatory we had visited. It was a pleasant walk, and welcome exercise. Every employee we talked with was enthusiastic and friendly. That was a wonderful bonus. They had a large special exhibit on India, which we enjoyed....
