I went to Phipps as part of a mini reunion of sorts with three old college roommates. I hadn’t been there since I was a kid. The website said to allow approximately 90 minutes for the walk-through, and we finished in exactly that amount of time. For us, it was great place to walk and talk. The gardens are indeed... More

Stunned at the beauty of some of the displays. What a gem of a place, and it's good for kids too due to the train displays.

Phipps was the one place my teenage daughter really wanted to visit on our vacation to Pittsburgh. During the summer months I would encourage you to visit in the morning before it gets into the afternoon heat. Parking was not a problem as we parked in the center island in front for free. Admission is $15 for adults and $11... More

I visit a lot of gardens, so I know quality when I see it. It was well worth the price of admission.

It's a beautiful conservatory with big collections of various types of plants. We had no problem finding a parking spot along the road. It's a delightful surprise to see glass sculptures displayed among plants. They close at 5:00 PM. I wish they would have longer summer hours.

We go here twice a year as a family tradition. Christmastime is particularly special. I'd recommend going on a week-night or afternoon. After dark, the lights are more special but in the afternoon, the crowds are less. It is impossible to move on a weekend during the holidays. The gift shop is lovely, the flowers are perfect. I particularly enjoy... More

Parking here can sometimes be tough but a visit here is always a pleasurable experience. So many exotic plants to see! My only complaint is it is difficult to find a label for many of the plants and there is no one around to ask. A nice way to spend an afternoon and the cafe is good.

Took my out of town friend here as she had not been since she was a child! The exhibit was very impressive. My husband and I try to go at least once a year, but we would like to attend more frequently as the exhibits are always beautiful. Definitely a must see when visiting Pittsburgh.

Really a great way to spend a morning. The building is set up for a pleasant tour, (always turn right and you'll see everything), and extras like the trains, and the glass art, add to the experience. My husband doesn't love plants the way I do, but he thoroughly enjoyed our visit as well. The orchids are incredible, the butterflies... More
