Phipp's Conservatory is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. They have seasonal floral displays and the Easter and Christmas are noteworthy. The orchid room is of particular interest for the beauty and variety of the flowers. Each room offers something different in the way of botany and you can learn something as well enjoy the beauty. The... More

Why is a ballpark the #1 attraction?! The Phipps Conservatory is the best attraction in Pittsburgh. Maybe there should be a definition of "attraction." The Phipps is well laid out so that you walk through different climatilogical areas as you follow a path in one direction. Could have taken longer but saw everything and took lots of photos in less... More

Phipps keeps its exhibits fresh - no pun, well maybe. Permanent exhibits and rotating ones are always in perfect condition, and contemporary elements meld with historic ones beautifully. The food in the restaurant is fresh, mostly organic and well prepared. Be aware that it can be busy at the lunch hour, so it is good if you can eat later... More

My wife and I have visited Phipps every time we have visited Pittsburgh (about twice a year) and enjoy seeing the new exhibits and different flowers in bloom every time we visit.

Phipps is never a disappointment. Their displays change often but even if you catch the same one, you will see something different because there is just sooo much to look at. Whether you go on a date or with family, you will have a good time. Overall, a beautiful experience.

Loved all the areas and the Chihuly glass nestled in amongst the greenery. The docent we had was so enthusiastic, could have listened to her all day.

We spent a morning at the Conservatory and had a great time. From their tropical rain forest to their India exhibit to their Japanese garden with Bonsai trees-- to the desert plants. A VERY nice way to spend a morning or afternoon. Bring your camera!

The place was very large. We didn't get to see the outside plants much because we went in early April but I was still blown away by how nice everything was.
