We really enjoyed Phipps Conservatory. The facility was much larger than I would have expected. The orchid room is beautiful. The gardens inside are beautiful and expansive. One word of caution is that there is no parking lot. All of the parking is located on the street, so plan extra time to find and pay for a spot

As always, the spring flower show was excellent. If I had a complaint, it would be that, for the price, most of what you see is the same old plants in most rooms, and only a few rooms had much that was part of the special show. To that extent, if you go often, the price seems to be high... More

It has been at least 20 years since I was at Phipps. It has gone through a major renovation. They have added greatly to the space open to the public to include sustainable gardens, a very green building that can be used like a portable school room anywhere. a new restaurant, aquatic gardens, orchid area, cactus, succulents, tropical forest area, sunken... Lovely sights and sounds, inside, and out during the warm months. Something for the whole family. You can do it fun, or relaxing. Good eats, too, with healthy selections available. Wonderful gift shop. A Burgh must!

Phipps is a Pittsburgh staple that was survived for over a century, and thrived near the Carnegie Mellon Univ campus. Gorgeous grounds and buildings that give way to a magnificent collection and assortment of flowers, plants, ferns, shrubs, cacti, trees, ETC. Massive collection sprawled about a number of 'rooms' or areas of the conservatory. They even have a cafe on... More

We recently received a membership to Phipps conservatory for x-mas. It is a great place for my wife to bring our infant daughter when it its gross outside and she wants to walk around. Sophia is kept entertained by all of the colors and shapes of the flowers. We make a point to go at least quarterly as their shows... More

Flowers weren't as forecast when booked the room 6 months in advance and fans did not cool off appropriately; but the venue was beautiful.

I have been going to Phipps since childhood and it is one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh. It is incredible in the daylight and AWESOME at night during the Christmas display. The recent addition of the rain forest and the cafe put the final touch on what was already a great venue. They often have events with music and... More
