There is always something new to see at Phipps. I try to go a few times during the year. The flower exhibits are always interesting and so pretty; they have a few outdoor exhibits and right now the array of tulips that welcome you as you walk down the path to the building entrance are stunning. It is a wonderful... More

We had been given free tickets to go for the tour, I myself am not one to look at flowers and plants because of extreme allergies to flowers, but my future wife was interested in seeing it once. Let me tell you i have seen many things in all my travels over the USA but there were things there i... More

Phipps is my #1 " happy place" in Pittsburgh- maybe with the exception of the view from Grandview Avenue! Its really not to be missed. I have been a member ever since returning to the city 9 years ago- I always take my friends who come to visit, as its a real showplace for the city. The exhibits and the... More

What a great place for a family, singles, dates, even Grandma. I went with several female family members. Very nice. Only thing I would say, is go when the butterflies are flying and when more of the flowers are blooming -- say mid to late May.

It has so many beautiful plants. The orchids are amazing. It is very serene and a lovely way to spend an afternoon. In the winter there is less to see as some of the areas are not open but still worth a visit. Very educational if you are fascinated by different flora.

Phipps is hands down one of my favorite places in town...In the winter, it is a great place to get out of the cold and enjoy the tropics; In the summer, the gardens are beautiful. My favorite is Spring when Phipps explodes with color. Bring a book and sit and read. You won't want to leave. Don't miss the restaurant;... More

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, or Da 'Burgh, as the locals call it. However, I haven't lived there in over 2 decades and have never been to the Conservatory. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the plants and displays. The one of a kind glass features were an unexpected bonus. The whole tour took approximately 2... More

However, Though not San Francisco nor Berlin it remains a very delightful old fashioned iron and glass conservatory. I was taken there twice a year for most of my life. I think that I can even still smell it, if I close my eyes.

After a long, cold winter my wife and I needed a break and decided to attend the spring flower show at the Phipps. It was a good decision. The various gardens with daffodils, tulips and other spring flowers were truly lovely. Additionally, we were fascinated by the orchid room and the variety and colors of the orchids on display. A... Stopped through on a quick trip to the 'Burgh. Parking was free & yes it's $15 but it was worth it. A nice break from the bleak gray of winter. As someone who enjoys the simple beauty & tranquil feeling you can get from taking in natures offerings, I enjoyed myself very much. Will return on my next trip.
