A very beautiful and interesting place. It's very big and has so many gardens! All of the plants are pretty and well taken care of, I like the specialty gardens such as the Japanese bonsai garden and also the rooftop garden. There is even a place for the kids to play and learn. Good attraction to fill in time in... More

We strolled through Phipps for a couple of hours, and it was gorgeous and relaxing. The flow of the conservatory is easy to follow - just keep going right. It was also nice that it was half-price admission for Earth Day. Definitely worth a visit and I'd go again.

It is lovely anytime of year but really rejuvenating in Pennsylvania winter. Warm, humid, lush beauty provides relief while we wait for the real deal in our gardens. I have been there several times.

Phipps Conservatory would be a must-see attraction no matter what city it was located. Don't miss it!

Phipps Conservatory is one of Pittsburgh's gems. The large grounds and extensive building space provide for an ever changing array of gardens, displays, and seasonal events. The Winter Light Festival is a perfect way to spend a dark and dreary evening celebrating the season. The setting was stunning and the quality of the designs both indoors and outdoors was magical.... We visited this week to see the butterflies but that didnt work out. Only a couple butterflies there and they were on the ceiling ... so too early in the year for them. But it was a lovely place if you like flowers and plants. The orchids and desert area were very impressive but my favorite was the spring flower... More

Awesome every season. I visit regularly and am always amazed about the frequency with which they chang The displays. The orchids are spectacular. You won't regret spending a few hours at Phipps.

My husband and I went to Phipps to see the Corpse Flower in 2013, and visited several times in 2014. This year, after 2 visits in 3 months, we decided to become members! The conservatory was the perfect refuge on a cold Friday night in February, and was equally enchanting on a Friday night in April when we expeienced the... More

In my experience Phipps is something of a hidden gem in Pittsburgh - I know lots of locals who have lived here their entire lives but have never been to Phipps. Maybe due to the location in the Oakland section of town, it tends to get overshadowed by the Carnegie Museums or the University of Pittsburgh. It's well worth your... More
