A very unique display of flowers and plants from around the world. Spring is a great time to visit. Take the time to visit the different plants, trees, and flowers in all the beautiful settings. Phipps Conservatory is definitely worth the visit if you are in Pittsburgh.

On a girls' getaway to Pittsburgh, my friend and I decided to walk around Oakland on a perfect spring Saturday. We found ourselves close to the Phipps Conservatory while walking through the campus of Carnegie Mellon University, and we were encouraged to visit Phipps; I'm so glad we did. The conservatory is conveniently located near several college campuses, well within... More

Loved loved loved this place. For $30.95 we enjoyed a fabulous brunch which included admission to the conservatory. Chihuly glass among the flowers, it doesn't get any prettier than this. If you are in Pittsburgh don't miss this beautiful place!

one of the most interesting places to visit in Pittsburgh - they just have extended and added the new wing in the past few years.

My husband and I (and usually friends also) go there every other year or so. It is beautiful and calming. The model train display Is unique every year. Lots of great stuff. This winter when we went, it was dinosaurs. So many dinosaurs in such unusual places! For the kids this is their favorite part. I must admit. It's mine... More

Rain, snow or shine, Phipps is a beautiful indoor respite from the outside world where you will step into another world of flowers, plants and trees from around the world. The historic glass greenhouses offer a wide variety of walking trails through an outstanding collection. Great gift shop and upscale cafe, too!

This place is beyond amazing-even the gift shop is cool! It's a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in any season. It's a relaxing, calm environment that highlights the importance of nature and hopefully the need to preserve it.

A wonderful half day for all ages. Gardens range from orchids & butterfly to cacti and bonsai. Lunch at the cafe is a must: all fresh ingredients grown on the property.

If you are visiting the city in the Spring or Summer months and are a flower aficionado, this is a must see! Beautiful flower shows highlight local artisans and seasonal flowers, with sculptures and/or art displays skillfully placed among vibrantly colored flowers, trees and shrubbery inside and out. In the late Spring (end of April usually) there is also a... More

For anyone who is craving some sunshine on a gloomy day, or growing things in the middle of winter, this is the place for you. This is one of the finest botanical gardens I have ever visited, with a knowledgable and friendly staff who are more than happy to answer questions. Each room changes with the seasons, and the themes... More
