Over 100 years since it originally opened, the Phipps Conservatory is the most extensive conservatory I have had the pleasure of visiting. A impressive world-wide collection with themed areas and special exhibits (the one in August included an awesome display of butterflies). Special areas for the kids, including a fun and educational interactive produce "store" complete with an array of... More

We took my 3-year-old here Memorial Day weekend and she loved it! The butterfly room was her (and my) favorite. There weren't that many species of butterflies (maybe 6) when we went, but still nice. Something different to do while in Pittsburgh. It was beautiful! Took gorgeous pictures in every room.

I have been going to Phipps Conservatory since I was young and it remains one of my favorite places. I have been able to take my children and grandchildren and now they too have an appreciation for the sheer beauty of flowers. The exhibits change regularly. It is certainly a place you must visit. You won't be disappointed.

...and Phipps has something for every season! From the spring blooms to the Christmas flower shows, and every day in between, there is always something beautiful to see at Phipps. Plus so much to learn about the flora side of nature, and enjoy the displays set off by some lovely Chihuli glass sculptures. Indoor and outdoor exhibits year round. There's... More

I have been going regularly to Phipps Conservatory for years and years as I live in Pittsburgh. I truly did not appreciate how nice it is until I started going to other conservatories in other cities. We are so lucky to have such a gem in our city! The place is quite large, so there are many different aspects to... More

The Phipps Conservatory is an excellent way to spend an afternoon. The extensive collection of plants is almost unbelievable. Take your time to stroll through all the rooms. The Tropical Forest exhibit was my favorite. This is a special, peaceful place. Don't miss it on your visit to Pittsburgh!
