Clayton is the Frick family home. It is a lovely mansion on pretty gounds. The tours are guided and you will learn a lot of information about the family on this tour. Tours take about an hour and probably will be boring for children. I personally was fascinated and enjoyed it very much. You need to be able to climb stairs... More

In the summer months, the Frick Center hosts exceptional outdoor concerts for a $5/person donation from 7pm-9pm on the first Fridays of June-Sept. Popular with all ages, it is a very casual venue, where you will see shorts, sandals, T-shirts and sundresses; babies running around and elderly people with walkers. Expect anything from classical to folk music, show tunes and... More

Walked past this mansion for many years before I got to visit it. Loved seeing how people lived here. Especially liked seeing the private bedrooms..so many collectables. Docent was very informative. Just wished there had been more time to stand and study each room and the carriage house. There is so much here to see you have to make more... More

This attraction is actually The Frick Art and Historical Center. I've been to "The Frick" numerous times and always enjoy it. The house, "Clayton", is filled with original furnishings, decor, and the personal effects of Henry Clay Frick and his family, that were preserved by his daughter, Helen. Tours of the house are led by very knowlegeable docents who make... More

One of the finest, most complete late 1800's homes you will ever see. Original furnishings throughout the house including fine fabrics, silver, china, glassware, pottery, and paintings. Wonderful 1.5 hour tour lead by a docent for only $12.. A fine legacy left to the City of Pittsburgh by Helen Frick. There are many special events held at the property which... More

Clayton was the Pittsburgh home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick and his family. It was donated to the City of Pittsburgh upon his daughter, Helen's, death to be used as a house museum. About 90% of the furnishings and art work are original to the house. Family photos abound; toys that were used by the Frick children are in their... More

Very interesting I have been a few times and would go again always taking someone new with me. A good example of old Pittsburgh and how the 'other half' lived. More

This is the Frick house from the turn of the century. Everything has been restored in exacting detail. So interesting to see how one of the wealthiest families in America lived. The docent was terrific and we learned a lot. Oh, and keep a look out for the Monet on one of the walls. The tour takes an hour and... More

Clayton was the home of Henry Frick, a despised man of wealth who, in death, left his fortune for the good of mankind. Pittsburgh has the large Frick Park, Homewood Cemetery, the Frick Art Center and his grand estate Clayton that was spared from being destroyed by his daughter Helen who saw that Clayton was kept exactly as it was...
