Great Lancaster area activity for kids

We spent a morning this past summer on the tour. Despite the rain, we had a great time. My kids (age 3 and 6) were able to see a bunch of animals and milk the cow. Tour was... read more

Ignore any negative reviews. Spent my step daughter's 6th birthday here today. A very enthusiastic, patient and knowledgable tour led by Mia gave memories for a life time. The tour was extremely well paced. The variety of animals from Scooby the wonder dog, a parade of cats and kittens, playful Pygmy Goats, egg gathering, cow milking, baby calf bottle feeding...this... This tour (according to the website) was to be "approximately 60 minutes", and our was about 32-35 minutes, and probably 10 minutes of that was spent playing catch with the farm dog. The young girl new information but was very unenthusiastic and did not keep the attention of my 6 year old grand daughter. She was happy for the interaction... More

Brought my teenage girl scout group and their moms here for the farmer's apprentice tour. The girls loved it. Their favorite parts were holding the baby farm animals. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The farm is located in a beautiful location and the Strausburg railroad museum is literally right around the corner from the farm. The only thing that... Loved it! We've been to Lancaster many times, but never did a working farm tour. My daughter is older, almost 15, and she loved it too. Our tour guide, Patrick, was kind, knowledgeable and friendly. His assistant, Scooby the farm dog, was adorable and toured along with us. We learned about the barn (constructed without a single nail!) fed cows... More

We spent a morning this past summer on the tour. Despite the rain, we had a great time. My kids (age 3 and 6) were able to see a bunch of animals and milk the cow. Tour was informational (for us adults) and guides were friendly. We also had a great view of the Strasburg railroad.

My children and I were so excited about this activity!! All of the staff were friendly and the tour guides, Patrick and Elisa were great! They were so warm and welcoming and made it such a memorable experience. My son is 9 and daughter 5. We got to milk a cow, pet a calf, hold a chicken and a baby... More

My boyfriend and I traveled out to Lancaster for a real interactive farm experience, which we got at Verdant View. We were greeted by the friendliest people and did the farm tour. Yes, it was smelly and messy like other people commented, but it's an actual working family-run farm. What do you expect? Be prepared and wear old sneakers or... More

We had such a great time on the Farm Tour! Our guide Megan took the time to answer questions and show us all the ins and outs of how the farm operates. We fed adult cows, gave bottles to the calves and fed the Chickens. (The calves were ADORABLE!) We also saw how the milking business works and took a... More

My 3 and 5 year old's had the best time at this hands-on farm. They were so excited to feed the calf from a bottle, feed and pet the chickens/ducks, milk a cow, pet a goat and bunny, feed the mommy cows and take a wagon ride. The tour guides were actual farm workers who really love what they do... More

We had a great time visiting the farm. My daughter got to hold a cat, feed baby goats, collect eggs, pet a sheep, bottle feed a calf, and milk a cow. This is an authentic experience in a clean, well run operation. The staff was kind, welcoming, and informative. Our group had experienced farm goers and first timers and we... More
