My wife and I walked for two miles on the Great Allegheny Passage trail going east from the town. There was plenty of free parking right next to the trail. The trail is a gently sloping path about the width of a car. It's mostly used by people on bikes but it's nice to walk also.

We went bicycle riding on a 22 mile course, and rented our bikes there at the park! What a beautiful ride, and it was right along the river, very nice and enjoyable.

We camped in our RV for 2 nights and enjoyed the wooded sites. The hiking trail down the mountain to the bike trails was steep and limited the number of times we could bike the Great Allegany in this area.

Gorgeous state park nestled in the Appalachian Mts. Unique because it is a state park AND a community of approximately 100 residents. So much to do and see: kayak, white water rafting, hike, zip-line, bike the Great Allegheny Passage and cool off in the river or on the natural water slide. Enjoy the recently opened visitor center, shop the local... More

This is a major Penn. state park with a wide range of things to do in all seasons of the year. River Rafting is the big draw here as well as a couple of nice waterfalls and bike trails. Winter offers cross country skiing and sledding. I camped out here in a very nice walk in site but crowds keep... More

We enjoyed hiking around and looking at the natural areas of the park. This is apparently a very popular park. We had driven by on a Sunday and the crowds made us decide to try Monday. The crowds were gone and we enjoyed everything.

I hadn't been to Ohiopyle for 6 years and my wife and I decided to spend the past Sunday there. It is truly a Pennsylvania gem! We rented bikes and went to the bike trail for 2 hours and it was the best. The trail is an easy ride, shady and peaceful, and we loved every minute. We plan to... More

Most of the stuff here is free to do. Natural water slides, waterfalls, and rafting. Such an excellent day trip idea!

Be sure to stop at the new visitor center. There is a gift shop upstairs as well as large, clean restrooms. The room at the back has a stunning view of the river. Downstairs are interactive exhibits for children (and adults as well). The artwork is beautiful including the information stations along the walkway outside. Very nice addition to this... More
