The wooded trails are awesome and serene, but watch out for people on bicycles they ride pretty fast. We love to hike as a family and this is now our new favorite place.

August 16, 2014 was a wonderful day with perfect weather to be at the Ohiopyle Falls Festival watching the kayak race and freestyle. We got some great photos. The newest outside observation deck was a perfect spot to see the kayaks coming over the falls. The event announcer from the older observation deck could be heard all around the area. About... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of offerings at Ohiopyle State Park. There is a lovely bike trail that is relatively flat and paved and you can easily rent bikes. We also went hiking on the island over the bridge and part of the trail was on the rocks in the river and that was quite an adventure hiking... More

After a day of rafting, we had to come back. We planned a bit better, packing a lunch. We hiked in Ferncliff natural area - beautiful. We took pics of the lower Yough from the old railroad bridge - stunning. We did some creek stomping by Cucumber - refreshing. We had a nice lunch at picnic tables just off the... More

The hiking path was easy to get around on, the bike path was incredibly beautiful and shaded. We did approximately 30 miles and was not crowded at all. Enjoyed the wildlife and the views of waterfalls and the river.

The Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania are beautiful, pastoral and rugged. There are plenty of outdoor activities for everyone! We enjoyed seeing the falls and taking a relatively easy 3 mile hike on the Meadow Run Trail. The trail took us past beautiful cascades and slides and through a green forest filled with ferns, mosses and laurels. Well worth a visit... More

Very nice park and we particularly love the falls. We wandered and wondered, really enjoying the scenery and the stories about the area's history. Lots of white water rafters were putting in just below the damn. Would love to come back and give that a try!
