I liked it here. I think its perfect for young children. Not too much to see so they don't get overwhelmed and tired of walking. At the same just enough to keep them interested. We were disappointed that the giraffe was not present. Maybe it got moved to a warmer location for the winter? It was pretty warm still. They... More

We visited in late August for a birthday party for a pre-teen audience. We chose the simplest birthday package for 15 guests and found the pricing to be comparable to most other venues we looked at (bounce houses, arcade facilities, etc.). They do give you a little more than most other places such as the zoo themed birthday cake, decorations... More

Well at least the parking is free!!!! I know that there is talk of expansion but could you speed it up. The attractions for the most part are old and outdated. Thankfully the giraffes are back and it's an interactive exhibit which brings a crowd but it could be so much better. The cost of admission for the attractions currently... More

Our visit to the Elmwood Zoo was horrible!!! It was our first time there and we will never go again. The nicest exhibit was the Giraffe exhibit, and it was probably only because Blue Cross sponsored it. If you ask the staff a question they are extremely rude and uneducated. When it gets close to closing time they shut all... More

Wow, have they improved the place! Yes, there is an entry fee now (it was free), but you can see where the money has gone. So much parking compared to the past. They've built an enclosed pavilion for events (we looked at it as an unconventional wedding venue). The event manager is a gem. They've installed a zip line for... More

We realized when we decided to visit that this was a small regional zoo and would have a limited number of animals and exhibits. The price up front surprised us ($14 per person), so we expected about a half-day adventure. Instead, we discovered only enough to occupy us for just under 2 hours. To be honest, the exhibits that had... More

We are members and we love it here. The extra activities are cheap. $4 to feed the giraffe, $6 for pony rides, $2 to feed the birds. The playground is great too!

The first Sunday of every month they let local residents in for free after 2 pm. We finally remembered this and visited today. We hadn't been there in a few years and really wanted to see the Giraffes before they left again for the season. It's a really cute little zoo with many animals. Feeding the Giraffes was the best... This zoo was great.. small but so much animal interaction. My daughter got to feed the giraffe's lettuce. They stick out their huge tongue and you place the lettuce on it and they suck it right up lol. Adorable! She also was able to feed the birds apples. You purchase apples on a stick and the small parrots will land... More

I took my great-nephew to this zoo and it was my first experience also! It was small enough not to overwhelm a 2-year old - he really enjoyed the butterfly house and of all things, the chickens! Parking was easy and using a stroller was also.
