I rode up front with the engineer and conductor on the diesel run so can't speak for the regular seats. They have one $40 seat up front, which is on a rather beaten up chair (armrests are ripped up so be careful of metal sticking out of the wood). They do make you sign a waiver for that seat to... Visit on a weekday so not much of a crowd for the 1 pm train ride. The round trip takes about 45 Minutes. Along the way the conductor gives you the history of the railroad. , the day we visited they used the diesel engine.

First of all, look for a GROUPON deal. Bring roll of quarters to park in town, parking next to station is $ 15.00 all day. Better for families with kids. The day we rode, they used the diesel. Nice clean station, gift shop, clean restroom. Short ride to Lahaska, then engine run maneuver around to other direction, this is fun... More

Although we weren't overjoyed, this was a pleasant ride that takes you about 20 minutes in one direction and then they move the engine to the other end of the train and pull it back 20 minutes to the original departure station. There were many children on the train who seemed to love it. We stayed in the upgraded air-conditioned... More

Your are there and it is ok to have a train ride. Cannot plan this trip for train ride. It is nice and cozy. I recommend 1st class in hot summer.

My summer campers were a little disappointed that other than the ride they didn't feel like they had anything to do. This was the shortest field trip ever. We spent more time on the road round trip than at the train station

Gave this train ride to my husband as one of his Father's Day gifts. Upgraded and he road upfront with the engineer. Nice ride. Trip takes about an hour. Very scenic ride. Exceptional staff. All the employees were very professional and very helpful.

Not a long distance but worth the experience! I would plan going when there is an event and there are plenty on this railroad. Many geared towards children but I must admit the adult murder mysteries are FUN! But they have all kinds of great themes. Its FUN GO!

Coach seating for this trip. It was a bit warm with the windows open. Staff were nice enough and the ride was slow and bumpy in spots.
