To be honest, didn't think I would like this, was my husband's choice to visit. However, I actually found this place fascinating. The lady gave an excellent talk, explaining the process of laying the cables under the sea etc. Makes you realise how far communications have come! Plenty to look at, and make sure you go in the tunnels, even... More

The refurbished centre is very modern and caters well for adults and children alike with plenty of demos\touchy things. A great demo was given by staff on how the earliest messages were sent, a far cry from sms\email today! The underground bunker in the hillside is amazing and again, the demos given by former workers at the site were very... More

The museum is reasonably priced and an interesting day out. The demonstration and talk were good. The food served in cafe was fairly priced and freshly made. Good interactive stuff for kids ( and adults like me ). Well worth a visit.

Came here in late 90s when it first opened and whilst interesting, wasn't much for kids (good job it was before rugrats for us) returned this year to find that they had just opened a state of the art visitors centre (still snagging the building it was that new!) the kids loved it, my lad (9) is military barmy so... Well worth the short journey of windy lanes, from Penzance- even in the October fog!! Recently refurbished so excellent facilities, shop and cafe were all an added bonus to a really interesting visit. Pitched just right to entertain all ages. Both our 9 yr old and 15 yr old sat and enjoyed the 25 min introduction to the museum and... More

We visited here on a recommendation of some friends that was also down here on holiday and all I can say is we are glad we did. On first site of the buildings it does not look anything special but once inside it's a different story. We learnt so much about the communications systems that we have that it should... More

One of the best museums I've been to in a long time. Interactive displays, information and exhibits are all geared to give visitors of all levels an understanding of how communication used at Porthcurno was developed and used. Staff are amazingly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

The museum has had a multi million revamp and is a great interactive place to visit. The refresh is great and has added to its quirkiness and genuine historical interest. The staff (volunteers?) make the place so special as they often have long associations with Porthcurno and the telecoms work. The new cafe is great with good food. A great... More

We visited the recently open Porthcurno Telegraph Museum which we thought was very well made and very educating if you like technical stuff. There are a lot of artifacts and it describes well the evolution of communication. Well worth a visit.

The bad things first: It was not clear that there are two car parks next to each other, one for the Museum and the other is a Council car park. Prices are similar. Dogs are not allowed in the Museum and there is no shade in either car park and no-where shaded to leave dogs. We visited on an unusually... More

Dear Gilly, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review; I'm sorry that your experience of the museum was rather mixed but I'm delighted that you enjoyed the museum exhibitions themselves. I have passed on your comments to our cafe team for review, and will be discussing your comments about parking and dogs at our next management... More
