Families have all ages and abilities. This museum caters properly for everyone. I had made enquiries in email re wheelchair access, & got a really full and helpful response. Apart from the steps up to the cliff, everything is accessible. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Cafe staff especially so. Food good and well priced. Delicious coffee! Mum found it fascinating,... The staff and guides are so infectiously enthusiastic about the place and its history, it's hard not to love it. The talk at the start was very informative and eye opening as to the importance that this small place played in the communications history of the world.

Before visiting here I found it hard to believe that there were communication cables running thousands of miles beneath our seas, let alone that the first were laid on the 1800's!! A fascinating place and an important part of our modern history. Make sure you watch one of the live presentations by a member of the museum's staff. This gives... More

This place was an added surprise to us. We were unaware of the important role of the Porthcurno wireless and telegraph facility. In less than an hour we had learned so much about the pioneering steps taken here to connect the world and about the vital role the place played in both World Wars. The introductory movie is so well... More

I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to visiting the museum, I thought it would be a bit boring but we and our 2 and 6 year olds loved it!!! Spent a good couple of hours experimenting with the morse code machines and more! Fantastic experience and you can end your visit with a walk to Porthcurno beach, a... More

We visited Porthcurno as part of a two centre day out linked to Minack Theatre. These two sites are very close to each other. Awful weather and definitely a time to be indoors. The road along to Porthcurno is very narrow at times and coming face to face with one of the areas large tractors makes for an interesting time.... More

Visited on an early family summer holiday, 2nd visit, even better this time after a centre refurbishment. Unusually, we had a live talk by one of the enthusiastic and knowledgable staff. Brilliant. Unless you go, you'll never know how important Porthcurno is to telecommunication around the world. So go!

An excellent museum telling the story of the telegraph and transatlantic communications. Well laid out with a small cafe and interesting exhibits in the main museum and in the underground concrete WW2 tunnels into the hillside. Plenty of things for children to get involved with. make time to walk down to the beach and see where the cables came ashore
