We visited this amusement park with our 4 and 5 year olds for the first time this summer and it was sooo much more than we expected. The park is beautiful and easy to get around. It is targeted toward younger kids so it is not too overwhelming or tiring for them. There is lots for them to ride and... more

Idlewild is a great park for your family. We have had season passes for 5 years now and make the 2 hours trip almost every weekend of the summer, and again in October for Halloboo. The season pass is the best route if you are going more than one time. It is only around $60 with is less than the... more

Idlewild Park, in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, is a delight for the entire family. Nestled in the gorgeous Laurel Mountains, Idlewild Park features an extraordinary walk through Story Book Forest, a wonderful amusement park with rides for the entire family as well as Soakzone, a full-scale water park! The highlight of our trip to Idlewild was The Mister Rogers' Neighborhood area, complete... more

This was the first time I had ever been to Idlewild park in Ligonier. My husband had not been there in 20 years either but now with our two small children (19 months & 8 months) we decided to go. It was well worth it. There are so many great activities for the children. We really enjoyed it. It was... more

This is a great place, very low key, family oriented and peaceful. We've been to many amusement parks and sometimes they can be overwhelming due to crowds, noise, atmosphere. Idlewild is a real gem, a fun family place minus all the unnecessary glitz and glam. Admission was reasonable, food was reasonable, looks of green space, and lots of choices of... more

Idlewild is a good park for young children. Raccoon Lagoon harbors most of the kiddyland rides. The main ride section is limited on the selection of variety somewhat. Storybook Forest seems rather outdated and getting rundown. There have been no noticeable updates to this area from when I went as a child(which may be why some individuals like it so... more

Idlewild is a great local park for a family get away for the day park. It's also the second oldest amusement park in the nation. It specializes in rides that everyone can go on. There are two roller coasters here as well. One is a wooden coaster called the Rollo Coaster. It was built in 1938 and was designed by... more

In case you don't know, this is half water park and half amusement park. The rides are all family-oriented. Nothing extreme here. The water park closed at 6pm and the rest of the park a little after 8pm. We live a bit over 2 hours away, and this was worth every bit of the drive. My wife and I celebrated... more

Wow - I rarely am impressed with a park - but, this park met my expectations and then some! We visited on Fri & Sat in June. We were very fortunate with the weather this weekend as heavy rains and T-storms threatened each day/night. We were told their rain policy is to wait it out. My son is 2 and... more

This park is such a gem. The nostalgic rides, I just love them. There is something here for all ages! Story Book Forest still brings nursery rhymes to life. First it was me, now it's my children who get excited to go to the Good Ship Lollipop or see the Crooked Man and climb through the piece of 'mousey' cheese!... more
