I have been going to this park for most of my 50 years. It's great to picnic in. Non powered boats are an excellent choice. Family events a superb place with no issues. New buildings and bathrooms. Picnic tables could be replaced but I won't fault the government here for getting every last penny of use out of them. My... More

Overall the park is very clean and the lake is great for kayaking and canoeing. I didn't see any boats using anything larger than a trolling motor. There are very nice hiking trails which was a nice walk. Not too challenging though, We camped for 1 week with a 26ft travel trailer and there are many sites to accommodate such... More

This is a decent, local park that you can visit for no cost. Summer--All you need is a swimsuit, towel, and any picnic supplies you like. We take folding camping chairs. Floats-- There is room for inner tubes and small floating toys for children. Snack bar-- Available for treats. Playground-- Nice jungle gym style toys. "Beach"-- There is no sand.... More

Disclosure - I do work here now. However, during 2006 while working in an office job I made it my mission to hike every marked trail with the bonus of one "unofficially marked" and all the passable horse trails. You are in the woods & at times can't see anything but trees. However the roads are never far away &... More

We stayed here with family that come once a year. If you have not been and are able to I would suggest driving through the camp to see what sites would be fit your sleeping situation. Also so sites are just down right to tiny to even tent camp in or have very old picnic tables. The bugs are insanely... More

I went to this park to peruse the tent camping sites. I found the sites to have alot of underbrush and foliage around the sites to give you the appearance of privacy. There were many with abundant shade, flat areas to pitch your tent and all had a macadam pad for one car. The park seemed to be relatively clean.... More

Camping sites are close together with lots of poison and "scrubby" brush undergrowth all around. Bath/shower house was disgusting - water everywhere and needs updates. Mosquitoes were horrible- probably due to the scummy lake. There is a small sandy beach in the camping area, but the big "beach" in the day use area shouldn't really be called a beach at... More

We hiked the trails and sat by the water on a day trip. It's a beautiful park. We plan to camp there as well this summer. It's worth the short drive from York for the weekend.

Beautiful, well-maintained park, lovely picnic area right off the lake. Boats and kayaks to rent. There was a little flooding on the paths, because of the recent rain.

Fall 2009 Most sites are good size. Our 22 foot small RV had difficulty pulling in late at night at the angle of the site. they have a wood lot sign that is not very high off the ground that you need to miss, too. I think this was a tent site but we had a tent for an additional... More
