As overseas travellers, we expected this experience to be something like stepping into one of the scenes from The Witness. Sadly it wasn't anything close. The Amish guides and people we met were so sincere and sweet and forthcoming with us, but the whole whole tour reeked of a tourist trap. We felt that there was an commercialised effort being... more

We enjoyed our Amish country experience while visiting Lancaster. We rode in a horse and buggy ride near the Good N Plenty restaurant for about $20 and it lasted about 40 minutes. The driver showed us his land and had his grandson try to sell us cookies for $1 each. We bought a few for our kids but thought this... more

GO TO THE AMISH EXPERIENCE...the interactive show is GREAT and our favorite part. The kids absolutely loved it and so did we. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean. The tour of the Amish house was also informative. more

My friends and I just returned from Amish country last week. It was our second time visiting in 4 years and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in Smoketown and visited places like Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, Ronks, Strasburg, Lititz and Downtown Lancaster. If you like the country then this is the place to visit! The Amish are such interesting people... more

I am originally from PA, and have lived in Florida for the past 9 years. I love returning home for the summer to visit the PA countryside, especially Lancaster County and the Amish country. Kitchen Kettle Village is a little touristy, but has great shopping, carriage rides, etc. Many things for the kids to do also. Food is outstanding in... more

We stayed in Intercourse, PA (just outside Lancaster) on our way back from Virginia Beach. It was only April so the weather was not condusive for outdoor activity which was fine because we spent a lot of time eating (food is outstanding everywhere you go) and in little shops. We will defnitely go back! more

Took a day-trip to Amish country from DC and had a great time. The scenery is beautiful and the Amish people and culture are so interesting. I was a little dismayed at how developed everything was, though. There were tourists everywhere, and some of the Amish seemed like you and me, although in different clothing (standing in line to buy... more

I truly enjoy the Amish part of Lancaster. I have been a couple of times and each has been its own unique experience. I look forward to returning as we always run out of time. Would recommend taking more than a couple of days. Also on Sundays some things are not open. However bring $$ the attractions are not free.... more

The scenary is to die for! We went in late June, the weather was perfect, not too hot or cold. We stayed at the TrailCrest Farms. It is a restored home off of Little Beaver. The whole house for less than a motel. If you have little ones I recommend visiting Hershey Chocolate World-be prepared very crowded. This was free,... more

We drove through Lancaster and around to Bird-in-Hand and back up through Lititz on our way to Hershey. Boy was this drive relaxing and fun and entertaining! So much to look at, cute little shops, good food and great furniture stores! We ate lunch at Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant and Smorgasbord and it was a nice smattering of buffet style Amish... more
