What a day we had. We started with a van ride around the countryside. Our van driver was very informative throughout the trip. We stopped at an Amish farm where we bought a few hand-made items. No pressure. We continued on our tour. At the end of the tour we saw the video "Joshua's Choice" which told a short history... More

For years I have always been interested to pay a visit to Lancaster, PA, and in particular to the Amish Country. Well, finally I managed thanks to some friends who live in PA and what a learning experience it was! We went to a theatre where we were shown a video that was very educational and well done and gave... More

My boyfriend and I visited Lancaster county to view 'Amish country' while on our road trip. We really enjoyed seeing the horse and buggys as well as Amish folk. We just drove through the county and went to a local store and that was a good enough experience for us! We are city people, so for us a couple hours... More

We enjoy visiting Lancaster County. There is so much to see & do. So many family owned shops & restaurants. We enjoy driving through the countryside, especially the back roads. We love stopping at roadside stands. We love the restaurants, as well.

The entire Amish culture is fascinating. Visiting the farms and talking with the farmers enlightens the mind

It is good to see the Amish benefiting from the interest there is in their culture. I felt uncomfortable however that it had been turned into a theme park. Come and see the lovely countryside and the quiet people that live there, shop in the traditional quilt shops but give the malls a miss.

Learning about this group of people that live a different life is a great experience. We visited the Amish house and took the tour of the house, it was a good way of understand more about Amish. Didn't took the bus ride, but traveled around the farm. It was a half day visit and we decided we will be back... More

I grew up in Philadelphia and went to Lancaster many times. It was delightful. I moved in 1970. I went back for a revisit with my family last week. It is now very commercial. It was absolutely not worth the 1 1/2 hour drive. Very sorry that this has changed so much. I suppose that it was inevitable.

We took carriage ride and went to farmer's market. carriage trip was boring, complete waste of money. It was waste of a day. Farmer's market is nothing special.
