I have been to the Philadelphia Zoo and the Washington Zoo and they are of course much larger zoos. This zoo is SO CHARMiNG and it was a real treat to be so close to the animals and get to ask questions of the workers who were inside the cages. They were so friendly and this setting in the middle... More

Visited the zoo while staying at Lake Wallenpaupack. Very nice zoo with a larger than expected assortment of animals. It's nice that alot of the trails you walk down are shaded by the natural trees around the area. If you've got an animal lover in the family like our daughter(she's 13 and loved it) this is a good attraction to... More

This is an "old fashioned" road side zoo. Animals are in small enclosures - not on par with today's standards. That said, it was well maintained, the animals were in good condition and my 4 year old grandson had a great time. The parking lot and visitor's building don't look like much, but once you are inside it is shady... More

Beautiful day, 74 degrees, animals healthy and well kept. Animals were relaxed, leisurely lounging with close up views. Lots of enclosures had running waterfalls and ponds with sparkling clean water for animals to enjoy in a natural setting. Food was good. Kids enjoyed nachos with cheese and huge baked pretzels at reasonable prices. Does have rocky terrain, but my son's... More

Our family visited Claws 'N' Paws in mid-July. We got a $1 off coupon from one of the visitor books. We could get pretty close to the animals' enclosures. Many of the animals were awake and active. They seem to be treated well. The paths and enclosures are shaded so that was nice on a hot July day. There is... More

Fun place to visit. Lots of walking and the ground is a little rough in spots. Nice clean bathrooms. Not stroller or wheelchair friendly because of the rocks and tree roots you have to walk over.

I've went to many zoo, and this one definitely is worth to be close to the top of the list.. Love the experience.. It wasn't overly crowded and there are many exotic animals.. My family had a wonderful time.. It was the perfect end to our weekend..

This place needs an overhaul. The cages are sad, I felt bad for the animals. There was a beehive near the food stand and the bees were swarming. The price is high given the sad way the animals are kept.

We went today with my seven year old. It is a bit off the beaten path and not impressive when you drive up to it but once you pass through the lage gift shop (fair prices) and pay your admission, you will be quickly taken by the awesome array of animals. You get really up close. It was not crowded... More

This zoo is GREAT FOR KIDS! My wife and I don't have kids but the animals are close and the staff are great. Tip don't wear flip-flops this is not paved and is dirt/stone; this is a plus in the summer your in the middle of the woods. It's much cooler in the summer with all the shade! The snack... More
