Been to the gardens about 5 years ago. Went to the gardens over the weekend to see the fireworks display,Fireworks started at 9:30. So we went around 6:30 thinking they would have the gardens open until dark. Nooo. Gardens closed at 6PM and the fireworks display was a separate ticket. $32 each adult and $16 each for the kids.$100 for... more

These gardens are amazing, but be prepared to do some serious walking! I would love to visit throughout the year to see how the outdoor gardens change with the seasons. It would be nice to have a tram that makes a circuit throughout the gardens. The day we visited it was unseasonably warm, and we missed some of the gardens... more

If you love gardens this is your place. I have visited display gardens all over the country and while there are many fine ones Longwood is in a class all it's own. Longwood Gardens is located in Kennett Square, PA and fairly close to Delaware. I went to Longwood Gardens as a kid on a field trip the 1st time I went. It was beautiful. The gardens were well maintained and I remember them being HUGE. I really liked it and made it a point to go back as an adult. So... more

We went to Longwood Gardens on a steamy hot day in July 2004. The gardens were lush and beautiful, but the heat finally drove us to a bench in a remote corner of the park. This is a lovely attraction, ever changing. Plan to spend several hours. If you are going in the winter, prepare for a blustery walk from the visitor center to the conservatory, and do not miss the out door walks, even in the winter worth taking (iceskaters, night lights...lovely!) If traveling with a child...take a stroller if they will still fit... more

While visiting the Philadelphia area we somewhat spontaneously decided to stop in at Longwood Gardens. It turned out that we were just in time for the first day of their "Christmas at Longwood Gardens" celebration.
