Today's schedule is diverse, from folk, rock, classical, and jazz. Recent renovations include a new steel roof, sound system and theater seats. Relaxed, intimate and all seats have a great view. The Opera House is located in the heart of Jim Thorpe's historic district, just a quick stroll to pubs, restaurants, lodging and shops. « less

Went there to see the Eagles cover band, or " eagle Mania", in the spring of 2013. It was great fun, and as i type this I'm making reservations to go again in May 2014. Jim Thorpe is a great little gem with plenty of good restaurants and a great scenic location, would certainly recommend this place! Side note, for... More

I've seen a number of shows at the Opera House in 2013, including tribute acts, original music, a folk fest and an original production based on A Christmas Carol. The experiences have been wonderful, made so by the facility's: quality of the talent, acoustics, sight lines, friendly staff, and comforts (bar, concessions, etc.). The prices are very reasonable. The only... More

What a wonderful experience watching a tribute to the "Grateful Dead". The atmosphere was compelling and the show was well worth the time. A definite must see venue when in the Jim Thorpe area.

It is so great to see a town of volunteers trying to restore a jewel of their community! It is a small venue which is in need of some constant restoration, but they have come a long way already! We have seen Twelve Twenty-Four TSO as an anniversary celebration in addition to having dinner at Tony Stella's. 12/24's talent might... More

THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE , We go there because it is a great local place to go see great music , Great places in town to eat before the show, Better be able to walk, Not much parking by opera house. Pick and choose your shows, Good assortment of shows. Just a nice size place.

This is your typically boring old theater venue. I know when you have limited seating your not going to be able to book The Rolling Stones there. But with that being said there is little imagination used in the booking of the acts there. You can start with all the tribute acts which if you've seen one you've seen them... More

Dear Jim, I see this is your first review ever on Trip Advisor, and thanks for offering your views on the venue. We hope we'll present something for you in the future that's of interest, but as you know, it's difficult to please everyone. On the positive side our crowds have increased yearly in our ten years of business, especially... More

We paid 25.00 a ticket to see a Simon and Garfunkel type show. It was really a great show and I learned more about the history of Simon and Garfunkel than I ever knew you could find! The seating was "interesting". We bought tickets at the box office and walked to our seats. We only sat there a few mins.... More

I have been to the Mauch Chunk Opera House on several occasions. Always have a great time. Everyone is courteous and the town is very cute. My favorite performances are The Soft Parade (a Doors Tribute) and AJ Swearinger and Jonathan Beedle (a Simon and Garfunkle tribute).
