We did the Intro trip yesterday. It was just my husband, myself, and our 2 kids 8 & 11 in our raft. We had so much fun. The kids loved the water gun fights, and of course the white water. It was a workout for sure,(VERY sore this morning) but the time flew by. At no time were we too... More

To start with, all of the employees were extremely friendly - from making the reservations, to the life vest fitting to the bus driver. Everything moved along at a great pace from start to finish. We did the big time Whitewater trip on a dam release day, which had 2 and 3 class rapids. We felt that we received enough... More

A perfect day on the water! The long class 2/3 Rapids ride was great for everyone! Just enough excitement for beginners, kids, or anyone looking for a good time physical activity. Guides Bernie, Dave and Jeff are the dream team. Entertaining, fun and knowledgeable. Finish with free birch beer (AKA rootbeer) and a hot dog. Good clean fun!

First thing you'll notice about the website is the 'tude. They pull no punches and tell it to you straight. There are three levels of experience, and we did the 4-hour Introduction to White Water Rafting. After getting signed in and fitted for a life-jacket, they provide a detailed lesson/demonstration of how to paddle and the roles of the various... More

very professional and helpful guides, closest to the Lehigh Gorge SP access point in Jim Thorpe, which is very helpful after a long Big Time Class3 rafting trip, longest distance covered of 12.8mls.

This is exactly what it needs to be for people new to the river, or with small kids. We have two boys, seven and ten, and both loved it. Just enough rapids on the family trip to keep everyone interested, not too rough so the parents don't get nervous, and plenty of water fights and drifting / swimming down the... More

The Town of Jim Thorpe is a fascinating blend of high-end works of art, Huge church steeples, historic mansions, delicious food, a fascinating history, and incredible views. The town was named for Jim Thorpe, a super athlete of his day. It is also a horrifying look at a shameful part of our history: the virtual enslavement of those who worked... More

We took the shortest raft trip with two inexperienced 11-year-olds and we all had a Lot of fun. First off: All the staff were friendly, energetic, and helpful. The facilities were clean and Not overcrowded (on Labor Day Weekend, no less). Even the transport buses were clean and didn’t have that funky river stink. More importantly, the buses were waiting... Ooh, i was so glad i had my first rafting adventure with them! The best part was our guide was Mike who i believe was the senior guide in the batch working that day! We were briefed before we started our journey in the river and I felt so safe and secured. Mike not only taught us technics but also... More

Jim Thorpe River Adventures provided a fun day of whitewater rafting while we were camping in the area. They really focus on safety here so it's suitable for beginners and families with young kids. Before you begin, life jackets are handed out and wearing them is mandatory when you're on the water. A safety orientation is also given to emphasize... More
