The Harry Packer Mansion is another wonderfully preserved Victorian style home. The design, furnishings and the grandious style of the home reflects the wealth of Harry Packer and his family enjoyed. But it also tells the story of hard working, innovative man who brought jobs, homes and security to a mountain area of Pa. That was so remote, it may... More

The Harry Packer is pictured above, which offers accommodations for the night. Asa Packer Mansion, is the light colored building lower on the hill. The Asa, which HERE isn't the place for you to review for it, is the building that has all the original contents, carpeting, drapes even down to the forks and knives ALL ORIGINAL! This is the... Again we have stayed at the Asa Packer Mansion on previous occasions but not this trip. We have been going to Jim Thorpe for many years and we have stayed at both Asa Packer and Harry Packer Mansions. We have participated in a Murder Mystery Weekend at one of the mansions. Very enjoyable. Quite obviously we enjoy this town we... More

Did the First Friday wine tasting and also came back with friends for drinks before dinner elsewhere. The owners work hard at upkeep and it is a step back in time. Enjoyable visit if in Jim Thorpe.

The tour guide was pleasant and very informative. The Mansion was beautiful and well preserved. I thought the tour of the smaller mansion next door where the son lived should have been included in the price of the tour..there was and additional fee for that. All in all, a very nice highlight to our first visit to Jim Thorpe.

The owners of this manse make the visit worthwhile. Mostly this is a self-guided tour, however there is always someone on hand to answer questions and even give you a little town gossip! After you've finished the tour, ask if the Libation Lounge is serving! It is awesome!

The tour was very interesting and guide was very knowledgeable of history of the family and the business they ere involved with which was The Reading Railroad. The house along side of the mansion is now used as a hotel.
