The 1-hour, 16-mile round-trip follows the Lehigh River over bridges...

The 1-hour, 16-mile round-trip follows the Lehigh River over bridges, through Glen Onoko, into the Lehigh Gorge State Park. High-rising cliffs and mountain scenery surround the train along the route to Old Penn Haven. You will see hikers, rafters, mountain bikers, and wildlife around every curve of the railroad. You will learn about railroad lore, wildlife, flora, the history of the anthracite coal region, and the people who launched America into the Industrial Age.

It was too windy to bike so we took the scenic train and loved it. The scenery was beautiful even though the trees were bare. This allowed a better view of the mountains. Will be spectacular in the spring and autumn. The tour conductor was awesome

I went with my girlfriend on one of their trips where you load your bike on the train and go go a nice train ride and then the drop you and your bicycle off and you ride back... it was so much fun and very relaxing you certainly don't have to be fit or into bike riding to enjoy it...... More

We were on a weekend getaway to the Poconos (our first time away alone since our son was born 2.5 years ago), and decided to visit Jim Thorpe during the trip. We visited on a Saturday during the first full weekend in November, and took the 3 p.m. train. It was fabulous. The leaves were way past peak, most were... More

Went there for a sister-girlfriend retreat (14 folks in all) in January and it was nothing but fantastic. From the walkable hills to the warm/friendly shop keepers the vibe of the town was unforgettable. Quaint bars with cool cultural events happening at every corner of the town kept us all engaged in the pursuits that matched our interests. But the... More

We've went on the Christmas ride with Santa the past few years. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The scenery is beautiful. It can get boring for restless children or people who need hustle and bustle in their lives. Very relaxing and enjoyable ride. It can get incredibly full and parking can quickly turn into madness if you... More

I loved our scenic train ride, especially because they allowed our lil pup aboard!! Train ride was not something mind blowing or beyond special, but it was relaxing and the view was beautiful. The town of Jim Thorpe was amazing, it was like a "story book" village, will visit again this winter.

Train ride in the fall is just stunning. The mountains and the trees are so beautiful no wonder it is called the Switzerland of the America. Young and old are sure to love this lazy hour of beauty,
