Fun. A great way to see the river and landscape. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon activity. Went on the open air train car and it was beautiful!

Had the Bike train deal from Poconos Biking and the train tickets are included. Other reviewers are right, not much of a scenery, mostly trees and occasional but nice view of the river. They also have a running commentary what the train was passing so you will have an idea of the structures and historical significance of some locations. This... More

This is a very enjoyable ride. The cars are spotless and well-maintained. The ride is 70 minute long along the Lehigh River Gorge. There is much to see as you ride along through the mountains and over bridges as you are adjacent to a long biking trail. The trip is narrated but the guy pretty much read from a script.... More

The train ride is something you need to do when visiting Jim Thorpe. The sights are beautiful, although I am sure that during the autumn months the scenery is even more picturesque. The open air car was a lot of fun and provided opportunity to get some great pictures. The staff were polite and kept us informed as to when... More

Took our 11 year old grandson on this "scenic" train ride. It costs $5 more per ticket to sit in the open car on benches rather than in a traditional car with seats. Don't spend the extra $5! One of the conductor guides was very pleasant, one was very rude. The ride went through a wooded area and crossed one... More

This is a treat for the whole family - only 70 minutes long and a pleasure the whole time. The conductors are well informed and kind.

It might be really nice during the leaf peeping season. Our family group of 9 including three children under 5 really enjoyed being in the open air car, sights and train whistle. But as an adult I kind of felt robbed taking the train 35 minutes out, only to stop and go in reverse on the exact same track. Probably... More

We took the evening train in the open car. We enjoyed it. You'll get a nice ride with views of the river and valley and a history lesson as well. Who doesn't like a train ride.

The train station sits right at the entrance to the town of Jim Thorpe. We were there on a gorgeous day and rode in the open air car. We couldn't have asked for a better scenario. The open air car costs a little more than the standard car, but on this day, it was definitely worth it. The train rides... More
