A remarkable ride in the snow. The scenery was great and the staff very knowledgable. If you go in winter, bundle up.

This one hour train ride was a step back in time. The train is not in excellent condition but this just adds to the character. Our 2 children quite enjoyed the ride as the scenery kept them engaged. I recommend that you sit on the right hand side as you face the front of the train - the best scenery... More

My wife and I have taken our Daughter(s) on a "Santa" train every year for the last 4. This year the Steamtown one in Scranton was cancelled. So my Wife picked this on on the LGSR. We picked the Vista Dome car and paid 24 dollars a piece for My Wife, one of my Daughters (4 1/2) and myself (Yep... More

Recently took the hour long trip. The commentary was sparse but the scenery was nice. Wish we could have gotten more information about the area. The train car was also freezing cold so it was only one step up from being outside.

Very fun! I went with my boyfriend and niece. Fun for all ages, affordable, safe, clean and educational. A great first experience in a train for kids.

Great way to spend an hour. Steps away from the Inn at Jim Thorpe. Took the 3pm train ride. If you want to splurge book a first class ticket (and wise to book in advance for this part of the train). Hot drinks and comfortable seats if you do. Everyone is very friendly. Very enjoyable. Bring your camera.

My husband and I visited Jim Thorpe for a weekend getaway and heard about the train ride. We loved it. It was relaxing and the fall colors were nice. Want to go back and bring our daughter too!!

One reason why we chose to revisit Jim Thorpe was because so many people said "you must come back during the leaves season", so we did. This year the leaves were less than impressive, but still nice. How can you go wrong staying in a beautiful little town, wonderful hotel (Inn at Jim Thorpe), eat great food (Moya) and see... More
