This ride was unbelievable with lots of thinks to see along the river. The bike and walking path through the park and the old road that the houses used to pull the barges up and done the river. The train personnel also provided a great narration of all of the interesting things to see along the way.

My husband and I started this year's vacation with the Autumn Leaf Excursion ride from Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe. It was a round trip ride, 2 hours each way. Thoroughly enjoyable. Our dog was able to come as well. She had a bit of trouble getting up the portable steps; the platform at Port Clinton is under construction and... More

Great fun, especially for kids since the entire trip is just 1 hour. Loved the narrative provided, good details about the area. Comfortable seats.

Recently took the one hour ride to see the fall foliage an really enjoyed it. 12 dollar ticket for about a one hour ride into the Lehigh Gorge and Park in an enclosed car. Open cars are also available but we thought it would have been too cold. There is no food to purchase on board and no restroom that... More

On Saturday morning in Jim Thorpe, PA, we bought tickets for the noon train ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic railroad. Trains were running every hour until 4pm. We had a choice of a closed railway car for $12 or an open car with benches that faced out toward either side of the train for $19. We chose the closed... More

I took the trip yesterday, November 17th. It definitely was not boring, and I am glad that I took the train trip, but the people controlling the money behind the train rides are deceptive and not really honest and forthright. The web site said $12 one hour long rides. The rides are no loner one hour. They are forty minutes,... More

How does an area that was one of the busiest mining areas in America return to a more natural state? The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway provides a relaxing trip along the Susquehanna river, using the tracks that brought so much into and out of the valley to tell the story.

This train ride is really boring, no scenic beauty. It's rather wasting time. I went with the my family so that kept engaged but otherwise there is nothing much to see.

The train ride was extremely relaxing, enjoyed the view of the changing color of leaves during the fall foliage festival time. The only problem is we could not understand one word the guide was saying. All we heard was a low mumble athough there was another engineer who was on our car who suggested which side of the train to... More
