A cute village at the bottom of Thredbo mountain with the Thredbo Alpine Hotel the major attraction, offering, accomodation, food, bars and entertainment. Various bars and restaurants in and around the village ranging from poor to very good according to how much your spend is.There are a variety of shops in the main drag which is a couple of hundred meters... I am a newbie skier and i have been here a second season now and taken two 2 hour classes to learn. I have found the instructors all good, provided you get allocated to the right class. On my second day i had to leave my instructor and go search for a second group as i was too advanced for... More

We were extremely upset that the ski school lost our 7 year old son at the end of the lesson and did not seem to care. Very poor system of checking off kids. We arrived at 3.50pm to pick up our son at the appointed place (4pm finish). No-one seemed to know where our son was - "Oh, he must... More

Great for skiing and after ski browsing at shops. All levels catered for. Lots of areas to sit and relax and recover from a hectic ski. Scenery beautiful. Parking easy.

As far as Australian ski resorts go thredbo is definetely the best. A quaint little village in the mountains with some nice shops. The apartments and lodges have excellent views of the mountain and the snow up top is excellent. When it snows in the village, it is the closest feeling you will get in Australia to a European village

Excellent place to ski. Village is very well laid out. Plenty of places to eat. I was surprised at the reasonable cost of lunches etc on the mountain whilst skiing.

Europe meets Australia. A real alpine feel in the land down under. Take the Kosciuszko Chair to the top and choose from 3 restaurants. The Eagles Nest is 7/10, The House of Ullr is 9/10 (because of the view) and Black Salles is 8/10 (because of the beer)

we been told goggles and gloves are not available for hire after we purchased the beginner package. How a ski service provider has no service on hiring "compulsory" items and not considering those who have had no ski experience in their life. Cost quite extra to get us fully equipped, not really happy with their cost structure. Another problem is... More

The décor of the Village is incredible. The dry stacked stones completely go with the location. You very much feel like you're up in the mountains in Europe. Though food is pricey and the lines are long, I'd definitely recommend a trip to the snow by yourself, with your spouse, or with your family! Tip: Get a group together for... More

Plenty to do, places to eat and drink and good skiing. It is small by comparison with big resorts overseas, but we had a good holiday there. Skiing was pretty good, but needed more snow cover to be great. Some good long runs and snow machines topped up their cover.
