If you plan to travel to Thredbo in summer for the amazing walks or mountain biking don't bother staying in the village. It is overpriced, nothing is open and petrol is literally double the price of the rest of the country. Stay at Jindabyne and drive in instead.

Thredbo is staging more and more "events", like the Blues Festival. The place is buzzing with people when this happens and anyone from people watchers to downhill mountain bike fanatics will have a great time

Brilliant day walk! Total 13km return to summit from ski-lift (6.5 each way) takes approx 4-6 hours. Easy pathway all the way to top (impossible? to get lost), standard shoes ok (no need for trekking boots). Need to take: warm top, water-proof jacket and sun-hat - we needed all. Despite clouds in Jindabyne/Thredbo it was clear weather at top (we... More

Loved visiting this village recently. There is so much to do and it is very family friendly. The guided walks are a must and you are able to choose the length and distance depending on what you would like to see.

We visited for NYE and enjoyed the carnival like atmosphere. Make sure you take your wallet because EVERYTHING is expensive. Also be prepared to pall and walk as parking is at s premium.

There's so much to do, if you're willing to go outside and find it. Be warned it can be quite chilly.

Everyone so friendly. We have been here Winter & Summer and love the vibe of the place. Try the coffee at the little shop near the super market. In summer some shops do keep odd hours so check before you go.

We really enjoyed our spring skiing experience at Thredbo. Our kids got the 3 days for 2 beginners lessons which were well worth it, they learnt to ski pretty well, the staff were excellent in teaching them, it was such a good trip and well worth it. We stayed in Jindabyne at "The Elements East" apartments which by far is... More

We drove there but after Perisher we were a little dissappointed. Melt had begun on the lower valley. Kids had fun on the small toboggan area (clothing hire expensive for just a few hours of fun). Chairlift was nice though.

I loved my week at Thredbo. The late spring skiing was so much fun. I have skiied nearly 30 days this year across three resorts and I know good snow. This was not good snow, it was good spring snow. The resort was quiet, but loads of fun. I like the village atmosphere, the shops and the food options, make... More
