We have been visiting this zoo for quite a few years now when it was called an animal park. We think it is a great place to take young children to get in touch with all different kinds of animals. It has improved so much over the last few years and I know our young great granddaughter loves us to... More

I love everything about the Shoalhaven Zoo. I go here every chance I get with the kids. The staff are well informed on all the animals and the school holiday animal shows are the best! Highly recommended to anyone coming to Nowra or surrounds.

Had a great day here, animals were fantastic. The only gripes were poor organization at the cafe, had a 30 minute wait for a hot dog and annoyed by the way one animal handler was continually belittling and "talking down" both the zoo and the Shoalhaven. Saying "last week there was no one here" and "this is just a tiny... More

I didn't have high expectations coming into this zoo but was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My 9 year old son and I loved the talks and the opportunity to hold some of the animals. There are walks along the zoo which were quite challenging and beautiful at the same time. The... More

I recently went here with my nephews. Like so many regional Zoos I was apprehensive, scared that I might find some lethargic flea bitten koalas and an old wheezing camel only minutes from death. I couldn't be more surprised! firstly the shear variety of animals and then the actively of them. They all appeared to be quite happy and comfortable... More

The zoo and the people that run it are great! Although it is quite small, if u get there around 10am, your just in time to have a quick walk around, then watch the shows which are educational and entertaining.

It's a nice little zoo which we enjoyed a lot. We were there on a weekend, which helps, I think, as there are more shows. It's a fair trip out of Sydney but worth a visit if you're in the area, or can combine with a weekend down the south coast.

We have been to the Shoalhaven Zoo many times over the years and it keeps getting better. They have a selection of native animals including wombats, emus, goannas, kangaroos and crocodiles. The croc show is definitely worth watching, as is the snake display. You can also get up close and personal with the Koalas. They also have a new primate... More

We've been to many different zoos over the years and this was one of the worst. We left there feeling sorry for the animals. Some enclosures were very small and filthy with animals looking very poorly kept. Miniature ponies with no grass (only dirt) and nowhere to run. Three quarters of the animals were farm animals or just basic wildlife... More
