nice beach

A nice beach to walk along. Protected from the ocean by reefs, the water is mostly quite calm and would be very safe for children.

LHI is fantastic is every way. Great environment, fabulous weather, excellent food, secure and hyper friendly environment. The walking tracks are great and well marked, the snorkelling is some of the best I have seen and I love the kayaking! There is no nightlife, no (or little) Internet. I don't surf but I watched some people surfing and it looked... More

Really enjoyed the pristine beauty of the calm clean beach, plus the L H Island Environmental Tours in the "Coral Princess" Glass Bottom Boat and reef snorkelling was truly outstanding value of two hours for $50 per person. Our guide Dean was excellent with such a professional and knowledgeable tour in a very modern, quiet comfortable boat with ease of... More

When I first went to the lagoon it didn't seem too inviting as it was a little overcast. However a few days later following a snorkelling trip I came back and hired a stand up paddle board and took off around the boats moored in the lagoon and really enjoyed the experience and the clear waters. Snorkelling was good off... More

Although the weather wasn't warm enough the water certainly looked inviting. Whole area was clean - no rubbish anywhere - no bins- no one left anything other than footprints. The current flowing around doesn't bring in any rubbish from the sea.

The four spot snorkel tour is excellent and it is possible for stronger swimmers to access some great snorkelling straight from the beach

Take a bottle of wine and your friends and sit down at the lagoon and watch the sun set. Something we all should do at some time in our life. This is a magnificent view and with the boats on the foreshore and another little piece of serenity. You will love it.

The water is an unbelievably beautiful blue, endless picnic spots to have lunch or watch the sunset, and not too cold to swim in in April. We hired a 2 person glass bottom kayak and paddled out to the island off the beach, around to Old Settlement Beach and then North Bay and back again within an hour and a... More

Due to the reef the lagoon never has ocean waves which makes it great for swimming and snorkelling and safe for kids. We snorkelled out around the rocky islands and saw a huge variety of beautiful fish.

Don't miss a visit to Lagoon beach and swim with the turtles. We had turtles swim with us every day we visited here. They are massive and will stay right near you if you leave them alone. Beautiful snorkelling here too if you can bring gear with you. Crystal clear waters and nice long sandy beach. BBQ facilities also on... More
