Such an amazing mountain with mind blowing views. You feel like you're straight off the set of Pirates of the Caribbean . It's so peaceful up there, you feel a real onenes with nature. The tour guide Jack was world class. It was a day long adventure, and one we'll never forget.

We took a guided tour with Environmental Tours and Dean was fantastic. He has a great knowledge of the plants and birds and a dry sense of humour which kept us all smiling. It was hard work (physically) - even though we had perfect weather and we've done it twice before. It took us just under ten hours because we... More

My family climbed this Mt with Eco tours. Dean took us up and made sure we were all with the group and travelling safely. It is NOT a walk and you need to be fit, strong and not too worried about heights. A remarkable experience.

Let's begin by stating, I am terrified of heights! After a 10 minute discussion with Jill from environmental tours and a picture tour of the two exposed areas (and some very timely advise of don't look down, just look at the cliff and use the rope) I decided to try. After a brisk walk along the coast you immediately start... More

Although this is rated as a grade 10 hike, it can be accomplished by any reasonably fit person, as long as they do not have a fear of heights. Indeed, most of the walkers on the hike were in their mid fifties and above (but obviously used to walking), and it was the young couple that struggled somewhat. Most importantly,... More

After climbing 2hours up Mount Lydbird to 450 meters to the Goat House Cave mark up some very steep rocky slopes , the body and mind made the decision not to attempt Mount Gower as its a 8 hour trip. The views at Mount Lydbird were also excellent. See you next time Mount Gower .

After reading some reviews about the difficulty of this walk I was initially not going to attempt it. I am glad I changed my mind. There is no doubt that this is a long tough walk, clamber and climb, but the rewards are exceptional. The view at lunch after you have climbed the 875m from sea level is breathtaking. The... More

Mt Gower towers over Lord Howe Island from every vantage point. At 875m it is an awesome sight that continually changes its appearance with every change in cloud cover, weather and time of day. Although I ventured to the foot of Mt Gower, the thought of doing an 8 hour climb, rated 5 out of 5 in degree of difficulty... More

You need to be fit and have good balance for this trek. Although only 10-12 km total walking the whole day, it takes 9-10 hours incurring well needed rest breaks. Our guide Jack, set a steady pace, but paused regularly to provide info and allow us to catch our breath. The scenery and vegetation is fantastic, with damp mist forest... More
