What an amazing place to visit, so much history and lovely people that run it. If you're in the area it is definitely worth the stop.

From the old ruins from when the crawly's owned it after my Ancestors the husband of the new owners has passed away now but did a wonderful job on restoring the home to it full glory, it is very nicely done and its worth going to see inside it.

We just visited with friends and young children (5-12 yo) and such a vivid history and a couple of strange occurrences too. Would recommend the overnight stay but kids must be 15 and up for that one.

We came to the homestead in search of ghosties! Stayed overnight with a bangas and mash dinner and did a ghost tour. We were disappointed that we didn't prove life after death but it was a cute tour. Check out the lollie shop while in town.

My daughter has been keen to visit this homestead for many years. We decided to visit on our way to Melbourne, and weren't disappointed. We enjoyed wandering around the house and grounds of this beautiful home. Mrs. Ryan welcomed us at the gift shop. It cost us $30 for a family of 4. (There is no eftpos , so make... More

Well worth a visit to this restored mansion, The grounds and building with a collection of horse drawn carriages make it a worthwhile visit. With Lawrence Legend stunt man. The Lady who owns the property said her husband who died last year was the driving force behind the restoration which took years

The staff did not say anything but stay away from private areas , the house did not seem scary but more like a over stocked house trying to hard to be scary. I read reviews before going and j fear the ghosts may of moved out of the home stead

The Monte Cristo Homestead is rated as the most haunted homestead in Australia, but I can't say that it bothered me. It was simply a beautiful homestead, repaired & renovated with love & care, which showed in every room. The delightful owner was friendly & more than helpful with her stories of how she & her husband & children put... More

We booked into Monte Cristo months ago on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. On booking in we were allocated our rooms. The rooms are still in period furniture. First time I've been in a four poster bed. The six bedroom have shared bathroom facilities. Dinner, bed and breakfast was included in the Tarif. After a delicious... More

We arrived just before 6pm quickly settled in and went downstairs to the dinning area. We sat down and Lawrence started to tell us some stories about the homestead. We had a lovely entre then a huge serving of chicken, mash potatoes carrot and beans. After dinner we went over and watched a short dvd on the history of the... More
